I remember. My first search engine was a war dialer for my Commodore 64 that tried to find Bulletin Board Systems in the area.

Not on the WWW I don't, I started using a web browser in 1994/95 and Infoseek seemed to be the popular one back then.

There is only a very small window between the www becoming free (1993) and infoseek being around (1994) and was that even the first search engine? Where/when did you first get online?
