What sites are best for custom plates?

Wow, surprised to see so many people against personalised plates here  About 4 or 5 of my customers on seeing my 'new' car a couple of months back were really pushy on how much I should get a personalised plate on it. On a good looking car, it does help imho, and that's why about 4 in every 5 range rovers I see have one, and a load of s-classes and various other higher-end cars. I know quite a few people with decent cars and personalised plates and no, they're not prats. It's another little extra for a car and the 'ageless' touch is a nice option.

I'm looking at getting a half-decent plate for mine, something in Northern Ireland style and with a good number on it - in the last few weeks I've seen, for example, NCZ 500, WIA 750, MKZ 25 and the likes - but they're ridiculous money. It's actually cheaper going with something name-related but I'm not too fussed on that.

What? It’s personalising your car with something different how the hell does that make you a prat?

Because it disregards the law?
or implies that there is something special about the owner, of say Italic plates, that he doesn't need to comply.

And the only way so called private plates make people look different is that they paid more than £8 for them and everyone knows it, nobody knows their name or whether the characters match or even what they mean.
It's snobbery almost unique to the UK.

You cant beat the plates sometimes seen on Lorries anyway, 'DAVE' 'GARY' etc why compete ;)

dont you ever see anyone with fancy curly fonts and think to yourself what's so special about him he doesn't have to comply with the law?

But that's not what he was talking about

Illegal plates are irrelevant here, he's looking for a private registration number.

My bad , I was confused by his use of the word 'custom plate' and the following comments calling him a wazzock :D etc
