Hey guys,

I'm looking about websites for custom reg plates but there's millions - also with random prices.

A while ago I found a site with Ax XYZ (letter number 3 letter) for 500-1000 but now the same thing is around 4k on another site and I can't find the original site lol!

What sites do you use or are the best?

No matter where you buy, you will look like a wazzock.

But to look like a wazzock on the cheap, get them directly from the dvla.

I think that's a little harsh and broad-brush statement. I agree that many MANY private plates look **** and make the drivers look like ****s but that's not always the case...

Plus normal reg's look crap especially if you have an old D reg or something lol...

my name is Stuart Docherty and my nickname is Doc so I would get something like S7 DOC or S21 DOC, etc which imho I can be allowed since that IS my nickname :p

All personalised number plates make you look, imho, like a prat.

Don't waste your money on one :)

What? It’s personalising your car with something different how the hell does that make you a prat?

It's just my personal opinion.

I see them as being a waste of money, why pay £250+ for something as shallow as your name, or car, or engine capacity etc on a plate.

yeah but surely something personal is better than E573 HPL or something...

my friend has Yx KTY and it looks well cool on her 56 Fiesta... i also don't like the new style "date" plates...

(x'd out the number)...

It doesn't look cool, it just looks like her name is Katy (at a total guess)

Why not just get a big sticker that has your name on down the side of your car, has the same effect!

Nowt wrong with funny or witty ones. Best I have seen a photo of was GG W1N that was on a gold rolls in auto car a few years ago, and i have seen STR1P on a bentley parked outside a gentleman's club in brum.

At TOTB on sunday there was a corvette or something with BL03 JOB on the plate that made me laugh. One of the guys running a nova in the competition had B16 NOB, that again tickled my very childish sense of humour. Have also seen BO03 BOY on a merc SL.

I have a 'private' plate on my mondeo. All it is is the plate off my first car which was an H reg, and means nothing to anyone but me. I decided I would keep it because it was my first car, which i loved to pieces!

Each to their own I reckon.

My plate was my 21st birthday present from my parents. Only the people that know me get it straight away but im not fussed as it is something that I will always keep and move to each car I own.

IMO it was better than my parents getting me some piece of jewelery or just giving me money as it is something I will always have in a way I guess. Plus I'm happy with it so couldn't give two ticks what other people think about it. :)
