What Software Are You Waiting For?

Just sat here thinking there is quite a list of software that I am waiting for and was wondering what other people might be waiting for?

My list:

WLM 9 Final
Firefox 3 Final
HTML 5.0 (just to see what it's like)
IE8
XP SP3
Vista SP1
Vista compatible VLC

It's been released, went RTM a while ago and is now on Windows Update

That's not entirely true, it's not on general public release for another 2 weeks yet.

no i mean VLC, miffs me off that everytime i use it on my laptop it causes it to go to the shoddy theme because its using 3D drivers or something? :confused:

Well more likely what you need is some updated drivers for your graphics then ... I just tried VLC on Vista (HP 32bit) on my laptop and it doesn't appear to change anything theme wise, (still running full Aero and even keeps running fine if I go into the Vista 3d stacked windows window switching thingy).

And that not even with an up to date version of VLC (0.8.6c)

already is mate, using the beta at the moment and its a-patched

well i would update my graphics drivers but normal nvidia dont seem to want to install on my laptop as it says that my 8600M GS isnt supported and the ones on the HP website are several months old and the ones i already have

Wikipedia says WLM 9 full is due out for late 08/early 09.

Any idea when IE8 is out? And same for HTML 5.0. Can I ask why you are daring to label a HTML version as software?

The later versions of VLC shouldnt cause Vista to turn Aero off, initialliy it did but it was updated to correct this issue.

a decent 64bit mkv decoder for mkv files in Vista Media Centre x64

the current one is rubbish, it's a 3rd party one that is blocky as hell and jerky

May I ask why in particular you are waiting for those software updates to be released? I can understand games but I'm not exactly excited of the prospect of IE8, for example.
