What software do you use for o/c?

What software do you use to bench stability? Temps? Voltages?

TAT and coretemp shows temps nearly 10% higher than Everest :confused:

Also is the voltage right for my chip? How do you use Everest to actually bench the ram speeds etc?

Seen a lot of people using Everest.

Stability: Orthos
Temps: Asus Probe
Voltage: Asus probe/nv monitor
Bench: High end games like DiRT, bioshock, World in Conflict

Never sure what to use for temps, different programs give different readings.

I've used Orth for stability, passed over 24hours stable. Went to burn a dvd and got a crash lol

Use TAT or Coretemp for temperature monitoring as they are the most accurate

Orthos for stability
Temps: Core temp + Everest Ultimate
Voltage: Everest Ultimate
Benching: SiSoftware, Everest Ultimate, superpi, Cinebench

Stability (in order): SuperPi (8M), S&M (still good, and sometimes catches memory problems faster than MemTest86), Prime 95 v25.4 for 24hrs, and finally a run through various 3DMark versions

Temps etc: CoreTemp

For day-to-day monitoring I'm fortunate in that my current mobo (Abit IP35) works happily with the external uGuru clock from old Abit Av8 3rd Eye

I have Everest Ultimate. How exactly can you use this to bench? I click benchmark at the bottom but shows some charts :confused:

Right-click the benchmark you want to run>Quick Report.

i use windows for stability, run it do what i normally do see if it rashes

Also, when it is open, right click "Everest Ultimate" icon down at clock->Tools->Cache & Memory Benchmark....

CPU (in sig) - 5051

Some chepo ddr400 2gb ram, running at 176mhz
Memory Read - 4834
Memory Write - 4952
Memory Copy - 3644
Memory Latency - 108.6ns

Will test with the GeiL ddr2 800mhz ram tomorrow

Expecting the p35C DSR this week to. Not sure if that will effect the scores

Have you updated the BIOS and are you running the Geil at 800mhz 4-4-4-12?

CPUZ says freq is 200mhz, which would mean its at 400mhz not 800?

I'm running cpu at stock as you know im having a little heat problem

which i just posted pictures on the other thread with my thermal paste

Not sure on the timings, something like 3,3,3,5 i cant remember off the top of my head untill i put the cpu fan back on.

BIOS is f2 if i remember.

Yeah 200mhz in CPU-Z means 400mhz.

Set them to 4-4-4-12 @2.1v after flashing to F4. Also set the Performance Enhance option to Extreme if you aren't going to be going much over 800mhz. That'll tighten the sub-timings.

Nah this one.

Tho the internet update should find the correct one for you.

Remember to select Load Optimized Defaults before anything else once you get it the BIOS.

Memory Read - 4834(ddr) - 4176(ddr2) 6194 (After tweaking)
Memory Write - 4952(ddr) - 3649 (ddr2) 5459 (After tweaking)
Memory Copy - 3644(ddr) - 3879 (ddr2) 5463 (After tweaking)
Memory Latency - 108.6ns(ddr) - 114.3ns (ddr2) 78ns (After tweaking)

Running at 4-4-4-12 2.1v - 300mhz (Cant get it to boot at 400mhz) - 8x300 - 2.4ghz.. CPU getting too toasty now, think a new cooler is neded
