What sort of games can I expect to 'comfortably' run on this spec?

Hi there,

Got a laptop ordered and its no gaming machine, but I was wondering what you think it would be capable of? Even at the lowest end of gaming. I'll be playing MOH:AA on it too. :D :p

I know it sounds odd but try downloading the HL2 demo - you might actually get it to be very playable on minimum settings as the engine is heavily CPU dependent and a C2D should rip through it. If it does run OK that opens up the entire orange box with TF2, CSS and the like. UT2004 might work as well as that has been coded epically (see what I did there ;))

And if that falls through, there are a ton of classics available to you - the original UT, Diablo 2 and other isometric RPGs, C&C and other older strategy games and lots of old point and click adventure games like Grim Fandango and Monkey Islands.

Not a chance, bare minimum it would run but I doubt it would be especially playable. X3100 gets about 500 3dmark06 marks, and most of that comes from the CPU.
 
Half life 2 ran ok for me on a Geforce 4 MX 440 so a recent onboard gfx should be ok.

I've not played tf2 yet so that would be good if it could run.

Thanks for the game suggestions too, I'm sure there's a few classics I missed that were known more for their gameplay than their graphics.

Is there a trial or something out for TF2? I'd really like to try this game out but I don't really want to spend cash just in case I don't like it.
 
I have the one in my sig the macbook,

In bootcamp, CS:S plays, get a max of 30fps, with everything low.

The X3100 chipset is really really designed mainly to bring HD to laptops.
