What sort of headphone do YOU use?

Used to, lost them sadly. They are good dont get me wrong, *i wouldnt have given them up for love nor money* but the recent build quality of the sucked bottom!

The sharps I use now are another level of the sonys though. One thing sony has for it, the comfort of them is top notch.

Some Sennheiser PC130 headset thing at my flat in Northampton, for gaming and what-not.

When i go some weekends i steal my Dad's wireless Sennheiser RS-120's.

*slowly turns into a Sennheiser wh0re*

EX71s as well, although my cat recently broke the extension cable

Your extension cord actually worked?

Ive tried 3 pairs of EX71s and all came with broken extension cords, the sound would only come out of one and then it was poor.

Stuck with them though cos they are fantastic headphones and at the moment i still use a mini disc player with remote so the short cord doesnt matter too much.

Dont know what im going to do soon as im buying a mates iPod off him.

I'm always shocked when people comment on how good EX71's sound, they have the muddiest bottom end I had ever heard on a set of phones!

Now there's something I can agree with wholeheartedly! :) Sennheiser MX500 blow away EX71s and for half the price. You'd have to be really obsessed with heavy bass (and oversharp top ends) to rate the EX71s, I thought they were horrible. To me they didn't reproduce music faithfully at all.

trusty senn hd600 and every now and again a pair of audio technica ath-900s. wouldnt trade either for the world :)

Awesome for studio work.

Yeah - the DT100s are everywhere in studios and broadcast!
They just last forever and are highly maintainable.
Sound is OK, but that's not really what they're for. They're for kicking around and throwing against the wall ;)

I'd like to try out the DT770's and hear what they are like :)

My DT770's are amazing, i suppose they have got to be for monitoring headphones. The sound of them is very warm, powerful anf punchy bass and a crisp top end. I highly recommend them. I got these for my sound engineering course at college because my lecturer has them so i thought they would be the ones to go for, many more people in the class have got them now and they are also amazed by the quality of sound produced by these Headphones.

My GRADO HF-1's FOR EVERYTHING. Blow away anything else for the £140 i got them for, plus the bragging rights of there being only 451 made ;)

I use my HF-1s for all of my home listening. My sources are either:

1. (yet to be modified) marantz CD-63, connected to my arcam delta 290 with a mark grant interconnect.

2. Foobar2K media player with FLAC files. Heavily modded EMU 0404 soundcard with bypassed output caps, and removed+bypassed output buffers, and an lt1364 op-amp, (waiting for some OSCON caps to arrive too). A custom built breakout analogue cable connects the emu to my arcam amp.

My SR60's have had new metal grills put on, and have reversed senn 414 pads on them. But i don't use these anymore and they are relegated to WALL ART, as the HF-1's are going to be my only headphone of choice for years to come. They really are that good !!!!!!!!11

I use my old EX71's when i need isolation when im out and about, and will probably get a pair of westone UM1's during the summer for my pod. But i still prefer my HF-1's for portable use

Guys dissing the EX71s - you do realise like most headphones they require burning in? mine were muddy at first but now I'm reaching near 100 hours of usage and everything has levelled out. sure they are nowhere near sennheiser hd485 quality but for in ear headphones they are awesome...
