What speeds should i be getting?

Virtual paths: Green

There are currently no known capacity problems on your exchange. There may still be an exchange problem, however BT are not currently reporting that they are aware of it. Please contact Support if you are having speed problems, who can advise further.

Checking virtual paths is a waste of time. Green means that the performance is within BT Wholesale's guidelines, not that you won't see any degradation.
It's also pretty rare to see much congestion there now that Centrals are so expensive and thus more likely to get congested first.

Hi Toilen. Have they ever used Enta, in the early days?
(sic)

Not as far as I'm aware.

Link Information

Uptime: 1 day, 4:46:38
DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 7,360
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00

ping 57ms
down 0.32
up 0.35

distance 100 mile

You have a decent sync speed but the speed test you got is horrendous; your upload speed is faster than your download speed.

How long have you been on O2 Access?
They're definitely having capacity issues on their access product but it's not as bad as you're experiencing. I'm guessing it's your IP profile that is causing the problem.

Run the BT speedtester and post the results here, it should tell us what your IP profile is currently set at.

As far as I know you should only need your phone number and your username which you use to connect to O2.

When I get to the username part it always says.

It could be your radius username your using not the webpage logon, you should be able to find it in your router settings somewhere.

I believe it's some numbers followed by @o2broadband.co.uk

If that doesn't work then I suggest you phone O2 back and ask them what your IP profile is. In the mean time keep an eye on your connection and make sure that it's stable and not losing connection, etc.

That would indicate its either your ISP or the exchange is congested, your profile is pretty healthy so thats not capping your speed.
As you did it pretty late at night you would have thought exchange congestion wouldnt be there so might be ISP related?

Haha great speed :P
i did get almost 5000 last night at 3am :P

Does anyone know the procedure in complaining to a big company and not being charged? ive had bad experiences from big companys doing what they like

You'll get the best response by writing a letter.

As far as your connection problem goes it does look like it could be either your local exchange which might be very congested; either that or O2 Access is running out of capacity!

Someone on here got out of O2 Access contract and then went with Enta. Think they used ISPA to pressure O2, but can't find thread to check.

Suggest contacting O2 and see if they will just let you go without paying off the contract. Then if that doesn't work try contacting an intermediate such as above link.
