Hey all!

I'm years deep into a journey I never thought i'd get so obsessed with :o

I'm searching for my "perfect" t-shirt!

What i'm after:
  1. The perfect fit
    • I'm tall and broad so like a longer fit as tend to find a lot of tshirts end level/above the belt line.
    • Slimmer around the waistline but with room for a deep chest and big shoulders
    • Fitted around the bicep with just the right length to sit around the middle of the upper arm
    • Heavier weight material rather than the typical paper thin, see through white tshirts you tend to get from everywhere these days.
  2. Colours
    • A wide selection of neutral, plain colours. White, blues, olives, black etc etc.
  3. WASHABILITY!
    • I never tumble dry my clothes, and wash them at 30 degrees, but so many tshirts last one or two washes before they lose their shape, either shrinking vertically or becoming too tight around the chest.
  4. Price
    • I don't mind spending a bit, in my mind £15-£30, with the upper end being for something that ticks all the boxes and lasts a long time.
So, I turn to the one place that exists where a wide variety of males all sit around and fling mud at each other, with various budgets, shapes, sizes and tastes, OcUK, to help me on this quest!

I used to wear Banana Republic tshirts. But since the exited the UK I now just buy Uniqlo tshirts when they are on offer. However I recently bought some John Lewis own brand tshirts and they are really good. But tshirts are one of those things I don't want to spend a lot of money on. They always look tired after a while so I'd rather buy mid range (not cheapest) and replace them frequently.

I've found Berghauss Technical t-shirts great quality. They come out the washing machine almost dry after a spin, and off a line crinkle free. Polyester has come a long way - now I'd say it's vastly superior to cotton.

I've eyed uniqlo a lot in the past but have yet to pull the trigger!

No stores near me but will pop into one in a few weekends when i'm in London :)

I just don't really see where your money is going on a t-shirt. A £5 plain white one is fine.

I'll spend decent money on a jumper though :p

My life is spent in t-shirts, I wear them for work and probably 99% of the time i'm wearing clothes.

I also like to look my best whenever I step out the house so for me a well fitted tshirt is worth paying the extra money for.

I'm also a weird shape so more average shaped guys might find any old tshirt will fit, but not for me unfortunately :(

To be honest, one of the reasons I stick to the cheap ones is I tend to trash them pretty quickly :p

Doesn't really matter so much on a £5 Asda George t-shirt.

Anything cheap.

If I want to look smart I wear a shirt, t-shirts are never 'smart' no matter how well made.

Honestly, most of my t-shirts are bands so. I prefer to wear polo shirts for mooching about in, and I get the majority from charity shops. Recently I picked up a few Next ones, a couple of Boss ones, a DKNY one and a couple of Under Armour ones. £3.50 each, and a few were new with tags.

I'm a big fan of the Uni-qlo shirts, would say that they make up the bulk of my T-shirts. The Supima cotton ones are very nice.
Cos also do a nice T-Shirt but they're a bit more expensive

At this time of year and in the great energy shortage, I wear trespass AT100 long sleeve base layer tops. Comfy and warm.

Made from plastic bottles too for all the waste not want not brigade.

Levi's for me. They fit me well and seem to wash well even at 30. They're the only t-shirt I've found that I'm comfortable wearing out and about without needing something on top to look decent (shirt, jumper, etc).

For the price these are great. As good as uniqlo/M&S etc
