Put my hand on my harddrives the other day, and they were so damn hot I got worried...I have three in my case, so im just wondering what temps for the all would be ok?...and when should I start to worry? Im running 3 samsung spinpoints

Thanks

I also have 3 drives in my case, and i get temps of around 35 - 39 C

The offical site may tell you what temps you should expect, my drives are WD and on their site it says anything upto 55C is normal, I would have thought it'd be around the same temp for other makes of drives aswell.

Hope it helps :)

WD drives run cooler so i'd expect other drives to perhaps be rated a bit higher temperature wise.

2 X 74GB Raptors 31-33 C, 2 x 200GB Seagate Barracudas SATA 7200.7, 33-35c, all 4 HDDs sit in front of 2 x 80cm fans inside PC Case. :)

Use a program like Speedfan to measure the harddrive temps by the way. At the moment mine are;

Raptor - 37
250Gb WD - 36
250Gb WD - 39
80Gb Seagate - 39

Last time I checked in Speedfan my 3x 200gb Maxtors were running at somewhere between 52-60C which I don't quite think is right as they don't feel particularly hot to the touch.
