Hi, i want to go back to intel, and I'm trying to figure out whats the best CPU to get just now on the Intel side.
This PC is for gaming and light 3d work and everything else?

Genuine question but why? Especially for playing games. Realistically it’s probably a 14th CPU, 14700 or 14900. Core 200 ultra doesn’t look worth it to me? Quite inconsistent and expensive if you use fast ram which it likes.

Or you could go AM5 and buy the fastest gaming CPU’s available.

bad choice, with the Intel problems, high power draw etc.

Light gaming hex or eight core AMD ryzen 5 or 7 will be plenty. I have a Ryzen 7 7700, they're pretty cheap now.

Wll my b450 stoped working the motherboard ports and then kept locking up and freezing so I then got my B550 is freezing up some times, and the usb stopped working when copy files to my hard drive.
So after 4 years of amd hell im going to go back to intel.
I don't now how and 5 wouldd be to be its hell so far for me....

Zero issues with several AMD systems. 939, AM3, AM5.

Are you aware of Intel 13/14 gen over voltage, corrosion, bios updates that reduce performance? High power usage and run hot as well.

The 8 core Ryzen X3D CPUs are your best bet for gaming if that's the main thing for you.

If you insist on going with Intel, the K series CPUs should be fine, provided you update the motherboard's BIOS as well as making some further settings limiting power draw, etc, if you do these from the start, you shouldn't run into any issues.

Gaming at what resolution and with what GPU?

Personally I consider the 14700K(F) to be the best balance of price/performance currently and often not far behind the 14900 while considerably cheaper, less likely to run into the 13th/14th gen issues and a bit better for heat/power - but depending on what you do you might not even need that. The Arrow Lake CPUs are way too expensive for the performance they provide unless you do stuff which specifically plays to their strengths, though if you can find a keen deal the 265K could be a good option.

Towards the more budget end the 12th gen CPUs are still available at reasonable prices and still reasonable performance wise, without any potential 13th/14th gen CPU issues.

The 13th/14th gen CPU issues so far seem to be considerably overblown compared to what people have experienced in the real world with mostly just a small number of 13900 and 14900s so far really exhibiting the issues, though too early to say whether in the longer run these issues may still crop up.

would you say to buy another AMD rather than going with intel?
My GPU is

Gaming GeForce RTX 4090, 24GB GDRR6X, 384-Bit, HDMI/DP Nvlink Tri-Frozr 3 Ada Lovelace Architecture OC

Currently Intel provide less performance, at higher power usage and higher cost at the top end. Honestly there is no reason to buy Intel over AMD at this moment, regardless of budget.

What board would you suggest? MSI and Asus have failed me in the past

You don't buy based upon brand outside of warranty/support considerations, you buy based upon product. It's an easy trap to fall into, every major tech company will release good and bad, you need to take things on a case by case basis.

Over the years I have always found myself buying a Gigabyte board.

Intel I7 9700K system had a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X (bought in 2019)
AMD 9800X3D has a Gigabyte X870 Eagle (bought in December 2024)
AMD 2200G (upgraded to a 3600) Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 (bought in 2018)

Now, I do not stick to brands etc but these boards where always not badly priced and had ok features for my needs. All the above boards have worked without any issues or problems what so ever since they where installed.

I've had a couple of gigabytes they were fine.

But new GB boards seem to be having issues with coil whine. So I gave GB a miss this time round, went with asrock

Which boards where they?

Mine has been fine with no issues, I also got a new PSU (phanteks AMP GH 750) with the system as well. Only things that where moved over where storage (Samsung 970 Evo) and the GPU (Nvidia 4070Ti). Both my I7 system and my 9800X3D system sit on my desk either side of me.

Asrock boards do look good as well.
