the benchmarks I have seen says the 14700k is better for gaming and also has more cores for workThe best Intel CPU is the Core Ultra 7 265K, basically an underclocked 285k with 4 e cores chopped off.

I see on ocuk the prices are about the same, So if its a new build arrowlake is probably the best option, new socket more future proof etc etcDepends on what you are doing productivity wise - the Arrow Lake CPUs are very strong at certain things - which can pull their average up quite a bit in overall results - while they struggle against the 14th gen in other things. AL is hugely overpriced given the performance profile vs the previous generation though the 265K isn't a terrible buy when you can get them keenly priced - but you are still paying for 2 year old performance at or above the price it would have cost you ~2 years ago.
The 13th/14th gen is still performant especially in games I just can't recommend it given the reliability issues around Raptor Lake. 15th gen is pretty handy in non gaming task though.the benchmarks I have seen says the 14700k is better for gaming and also has more cores for work
here is an example, its 4 months old so I suppose new bios may have come out since and improved things
