What the cat dragged in.....

our cat used to leave us all sorts of presents, usually small birds and shrews. He would eat the body and just leave us the head.

Yep most cat's do this. They are bringing you a present.

My cat Sweep (sadly no longer with us :() once brought a small bird in (after trying several times to get through the cat flap with it). He looked so pleased with himself until my mum yelled at him that he was a naughty kitty.

Also one of them once managed to catch a live frog and bring it in. I was upstairs at the time so didn't see it but heard my mum scream the house down then call for my dad. They had to catch it in a saucepan :D

our old cat woke us all up many many years ago trying to get a seagull through the cat flap. he was so happy about it. he was a hunting machine though. used to bring all sorts back. usually with there guts nicely laid out on the floor for us like that german autopsy guy whos on TV

one of our cats now is a weirdo though , in the summer ive seen him pick frogs up and bring em to the back door. then when they hops away half way down the garden he goes and gets it then puts it back down in the same place as before. this is repeated until he gets bored/another cat kills it/someone intervenes. hes done the same with mice too but in the house. hardly ever kills them. he also eats flys

The cat did it to impress your mrs, not you.

I would be weary of the cat if I was you, next it will be sleeping on the same bed as you and the mrs.

Lol, yeah, he does tha..... heyyy wait a mnute! Are you messin with me?!
:p

Anyway, last night after telling the mrs about this thread she tells me that as a youngster he was always bringing stuff back. He brought a mole back once which apparently bite real hard so her ex-hubby had to don oven gloves to pick it up before chucking back in the field.

Does anybodys elses cat make meow-like movements with their mouthes but nothing actually comes out? Its like Thomas' volume has been muted when he meows sometimes. Its really funny to look at, especially with him only having one fang now!

LOL!! I'm quite sure that 'German autopsy guy' Doesn't leave guts nicely laid out on the floor! :p

Back on topic, our persian attacks our dogs, one of them is a Siberian Husky, the other, a harlequin great dane. The Great Dane's head is bigger than the whole of the cat. It's quite funny to see her running away from Milly, otherwise known as Minxy Moo. :)

Our cat brough a leaf back once, but it was last autumn and the lazy cow had just picked it up of the floor outside our house :p

You'd better cut a lock of hair from your mrs's head quick, soon thats all you'll have left of her :(

The g/f's mums cat does, she's 17 and is starting to look really old.

One of my mums cats presented me with a dead frog as a present once....in the middle of the night, while I was asleep, by dropping it on my face. :(

Awwww, he loves you!

I hope you took a bite to show him you appreciate him, if not its only a matter of time until he returns and kills you in your sleep.

My cat recently decided that the greatest way to get our attention was to sit on landing above my stairs and attack anyones head who happens to walks buy, he actualy managed to cut my ear the little sod.

our cat used to bring mice and voles in all the time when we lived at the back of some farmer's fields. Usually still alive so used to have to try to trap em in a corner of the room and usher them into a shoebox or summat. Cat always used to look really pleased with himself.

Other cat is even afraid of spiders so no presents there.

My dog brought a live frog in once - it's legs were poking out of his mouth and he decided to drop it in the middle of the lounge. The frog did the best thing it could and hid under the tv.... :o

My freak of nature has a thing for frogs. It's amazing how loud they can squeak!

His best one was a semi-live blackbird. It didn't last too long unfortunatly.

My Cat brings in Birds, Mice, Moles, Rats and even a small Rabbit so far.

Most are still alive (the Rat only had 3 legs by the time he brought it in) he kills them as soon as I try to take them off him.

He's a big fella.
