I lead a very exciting life (ho ho). Following on from my last WTF drunk thread, I'm back home in Ireland at the minute and on my walk home from the pub, I noticed that the street facing me has been cordoned off by the police. There's quite a few police officers standing around the perimeter guarding it with assault rifles. I asked to have a look at the guns but they said no :(

So, what do you reckon? A cordoned off street with an armed guard. I reckon it's a murder or a dissident republican arms find.

Place your bets./

I think maybe you should run at them with your hand inside your coat saying "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND"*

*Please don't do this! I want the answer. My bet is that someone has reported someone for having a gun.

Ah good old NI.

Where terrorists actually exist.

We have more than our fair share in Lurgan, now officially the most active area for dissident Republicans. I can't believe that guys I went to school with are now making bombs in their kitchens. It's sickening.

Assault rifles or MP5s? If the former they're probably only our 'watered down' version of the G36 which can't even select ''auto', or are they different over the Irish Sea?

Ive seen them in my area of northern ireland with older h&k g3 assault rifles and 9mm mp5 sub machine guns. with single, 3 round burst and full auto selectors. I can remember years ago when they used to carry fn fal rifles and m1 carbines and sterling sub machine guns. The psni has certainly upgraded, the seargeant who came to inspect my gun cabinet for my shotgun was carrying a glock 17 pistol as his sidearm.
