drinking starts about ~12 normally, food 2-4pm before all the family are leathered and food gets burnt

It used to be 3pm every year when I was a kid. Now its more like 4-5pm.

Christmas Eve at either around 1pm or 5pm and we have done it this way for years. We found that cooking all morning on the 25th meant we missed the kids opening their presents so adopted a different way of doing things. Sometimes we visit family and have a second dinner on the big day, which'll usually be lunch time.
