What time do you turn up for work?

start work today at 10am and im currently sat at my desk at 7:35...

(Usually only about 30 mins early due to public transport + hotswap desk's (I want my usual desk so that nobody can see what i do on the computer ))

I usually get into work between 7:30am and 8am allowing me to leave a 4:30pm Mon - Thurs and 1pm on a Friday. It is nice having both evenings and the 2.5 day weekend.

We can start anywhere between 7 and 10 am, the earlier the better as anything over contracted hours for each day results in building flexi hours. I aim to get in for around 7-715. That then means I can finish anytime from 3 onwards and make flexi.

Usually get in around 0815 and leave about 1410, though yesterday i stayed till 1430, trooper that i am :D

official start time is 9am but I usually turn up around 9:30/9:45 depending on how I feel that morning. The hypocritical tit I sit next to gives me dodgy looks every morning but she has no issues rocking up to work at 10 or 10:30 when the MD is out of the office.

How are you still employed haha.

Old job

start time of 8:30 use to arrive at 7, car shared and they wanted to avoid traffic.

new job

start time half 8 arrive at 8:20 time for a vape and to allow for any extra traffic. then I normally leave on the dot

We have flexible start and finish times, but core hours are 9am-11:30am and 1:30pm - 4:30pm. We need to work 9 hour days as we work a 9 day fortnight. I'm very rarely late unless it's for a specific reason i.e. doctors appointment.

I'm required to be on duty at 08:00 dayshifts, 18:00 nightshifts but I usually arrive about 30 mins beforehand to get things sorted out, get an update from the offgoing watch as part of a handover prior to roll call. Invariably when I finish, I am usually 10-20 mins or so later after official finishing time.

I'd say only the juniors really show up on time. My MD is in around 10:30 most mornings and most others start filtering in by around 9:15 so not going too much against the grain. And to be fair, our typical working day is usually up to 7pm but when we need to its not uncommon to be there till 1 or 2am. Typical culture of firms in our industry.

The issue is with people like the woman I mentioned who just feels the compulsive need to show her disapproval and voice her opinion when it's not asked for and then does exactly the same only when the cat's away. Can deal with many things but I've got no time for hypocrites.

I tend to turn up on the dot at my 9am start time. Regularly finish beyond my scheduled 5pm finish time if I have sick patients to deal with (no overtime obviously). Not unusual to finish at 7pm. I wouldn't mind getting into work a few minutes early for a quiet cup of tea and avoiding a bit of traffic but I'd get roped into working as soon as I walk in the door so don't bother.

Run my own company so whenever I like :p

Generally aim to be there for 8-9am but usually straight out to sites or meetings. Leave when I've done all I wanted to achieve for the day. Be it 10am or 10pm. I don't sit around bored and watch a clock

I used to be self employed so the same. Can't be arsed to get up 'til 10am? No problem. If i have to work to 6 or 7pm no problem so long as its done. Most people are just happy you show up. Used to work for one old lady who insisted on a cup of tea and a chat for 20 minutes, all on her time. In the winter i'd get a bowl of soup too. Worked for her for over 10 years and when she passed away left me £500 in her will. I think I was happiest when self employed but you have to be quite self disclipined though. :)

This really, and as an external contractor, no one on site has a clue what my working hours are. My boss is very much of the opinion that as long as the work is done it doesn't matter. This does mean the odd 6am to 7pm solid day, but that's rare and I'm often home before my official clocking out time

Me too these days I'm terrible at punching clocks so it suits me. I started a new contract yesterday and as the place was so neglected it took me way over my contracted hours to get things straight but once I get on top of it that will change. Started a couple new ones last month and it was the same now I'm top of them I can get them done in just over half the contracted time and I'm finished.
