What time do you turn up for work?

Working in public sector are we? :p

Nope just quite far removed from the concept of it being possible to be late for work. If I have appointments to keep then I keep them, otherwise the work gets done, I go home if I don't feel there's any benefit to staying in the office, and this isn't a problem for my employers.

But I always try and poo on the clock and get out for an hour at lunch.

My hours are 9-6, but they're flexible. The nature of the industry is that I often work late or have to go back to do something. If I turn up at 9:30 nobody blinks an eye cause I've been in till 11pm when there's a crisis enough times. It's nice.

Anywhere between 9 and 10, finish between 5:30 and 6, but always work lunch and often take my work home.

I'm not a morning person.

On a shift handover so anywhere from 10 - 20 minutes before booked changeover time. It's always nice to get it back in return (though not everyone obliges). Nothing worse than having a lot going on and having to handover in your own time because your relief gets there at the last minute.

I turn up when I feel like it, if I fancy working at all. Normally start at 7:30 am but will work until 9pm most days. My job is my life, but I love it.

My hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm but are flexible. I generally get to work between 8 - 8:15 on Mon, Wed & Fri and about 9am on Tues & Thurs as I go to the gym and rush around like an idiot :D

I used to be a late starter, but since I'm now paid by the hour, I arrive a 7am, and wait for everyone else to arrive drinking my coffee, reading OcUK and generally waking up.

And I leave between 1pm and 4pm, depending.

It's actually quite nice to have the time in the evening to do my own stuff.

I hate being late so with a 8 oclock start I try to be in the office by quarter to 8.

What do I do for those 15-20 min? Normally get a coffee and browse the web for a bit

Well I changed jobs recently and my start time went from 7.30am to 8am...

Turns out leaving the house 30 minutes later doesn't have the desired effect. The traffic difference was horrendous. Lesson learned!

I don't have a 'hard' start time as such, but contractually I'm 0830 - 1700 with an hour for lunch. However, I usually turn up closer to 9 and leaver closer to 1730 (still take my lunch hour)... It probably would be better to get there earlier and go earlier, but I guess I've just got into a pattern now! Maybe tomorrow will be the day I get there at 0825!

I generally get in bang on time. We have flexible working hours which I could take advantage of if I wanted to in order to start earlier, but I prefer having a relaxed morning and taking my time with things even if I do wake up early.

Screw the mentality of the most of you in this thread. Why in God's name would you turn up a full hour early unless it was circumstantial (travel for example)

I would turn up on time and leave on time. If I had to go the extra mile and stay an additional hour or two I would - but not happily.

Remember there is life outside the office guys. You guys should meet the Spanish and the French - they've got it right.

Work to live, don't live to work. (unless you're a gigolo)
