Hi All

I'm sat at home and the post has just arrived (14:30), Monday it arrived before we were up (we got up at around 08:00).

I think the latest we have ever seen it is 16:30.

I was just wondering if any one else gets there post at random times.

I do, it came about 12:30, thing is its never the same postman, we had use to always have the same postman for a couple of years then a new one would start, you could say hello to them and have a chat now you don't know who's going to deliver your post or at what time.

A couple of months ago it was coming around 9am. These days it seems to be turning up anywhere between say 11am and 3pm.

When I was a kid, before 8 am, and I knew the postman :)

Now, anytime after 11 really, I still know the postman and he will give me the letters if he sees me before posting them.

About 11am-12pm. It used to be about 9am until around a year ago when I believe they restricted posties coming in early or something.

About 11am. Sometimes parcels get delivered by a van, either first thing in the morning or late afternoon.

About 4pm 1-2 days late. I can only assume it's as I live in an apartment block, and the postman is too lazy to come daily or something.

It's a ****** disgrace.

It's not even Manchester's post service. I can post a letter from work to London and it'll get there the next day. At the same time a letter posted to my flat will take 2-3 days to get there. A third letter posted from my flat to my work would be there next day.

You have a post box in your flat for sending from? :o ;)

Between 10.30-11am - which is funny looking at the above answers, considering it has a second journey via helicopter to get to us.

Actually, even more amusing, is the business post. For some reason, that comes via St Marys. Which arrives at about 11-11.30am, which has been flown in to St Marys then comes up to us via boat. So three journeys!

Well, not really amusing. But you know what I mean.

Oh, but anything via courier = 3 days.

Depends, usually around 11-12, somedays 1pm or around that. Years back it used to land in the hallway at about 8.00-8.15am. Only day we get it earlier than 11am is saturday which usually ends up being 9.30 or thereabouts.

The reasons meant to be when they used to go into work years ago the mail was already sorted into the bags so they could get out right away and deliver it, nowadays they have to sort it themselves which eats into their delivery time. Or so a neighbour tells me who works down at royal mail.

when i lived on a main road it would be there in the morning at 7. Now i'm in a village it's about 11 - 12ish

Does you flat have timelocks which prevent the postie getting in after a certain time? Sometimes if the postie turns up and cant get in the mail will just go back and they will try again until they can get in.
