What time does your post arrive?

10.10am. I always find it funny when people (usually old women) base the quality of their post service on the time it comes through their door. They have to deliver to someone last! They can't be everywhere at once.

Does you flat have timelocks which prevent the postie getting in after a certain time? Sometimes if the postie turns up and cant get in the mail will just go back and they will try again until they can get in.
Our building has a double door swipe card/key system.

The same key opens both the outer door and inner door - only tenants and caretaker have these.

The cards can be set to only open either door or both. Postman has a card that lets him in the first door (where the mail boxes are) 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year.

EDIT - my post just came, 15:50. A letter my mother sent LAST WEEK (first class) and something from American Express sent the 20th.

please bare in mind that there are ongoing postal strikes and these are causing issues with the regularity of service.

About once a week at around 10am.
Our drive is very steep and I think the postman collects it over the week and does it in one go so he doesn't have to go mountain climbing every morning!

There was a thread before...

I remember when I was in primary school the post man would come round before 8.

Now living just living 5mins away the post man comes at 2PM most days some days he comes at 10 but not very often I have also had them at 16:30 so really random

It's impossible to tell, depending on the day, postman and various other factors we've had post arrive any time from 7AM to 3PM. It's sometimes just easier to ignore when you're getting a delivery and just picking the package up from the depot when you get the card...

I'm quite lucky, mine usually gets here before 10am. Whenever i get packages though they always come at around 5, think i must be the last person on his way back to the depot.

I do, it came about 12:30, thing is its never the same postman, we had use to always have the same postman for a couple of years then a new one would start, you could say hello to them and have a chat now you don't know who's going to deliver your post or at what time.

We have the same postman every day - very chatty and seems to know everyone and what they are up. It's pretty quaint thinking about it :D

About 11am-12pm. It used to be about 9am until around a year ago when I believe they restricted posties coming in early or something.

There were EU laws passed that restricted the speed of lorries to 56mph which means the mail gets to the mail centre later. After that we went from a 5am start to 6am. Before those days I used to get started before 8 so chances are if you were on my first couple of streets you'd get your mail before then.

I like to change my delivery route around when I get tired of the same old order every day which confuses customers :)

The reasons meant to be when they used to go into work years ago the mail was already sorted into the bags so they could get out right away and deliver it, nowadays they have to sort it themselves which eats into their delivery time. Or so a neighbour tells me who works down at royal mail.

The reason being that these days we deliver so much crap. Seriously, 80% of the stuff I deliver is just complete rubbish. Which means that instead of the old system of 2 deliveries a day we now have to do 4 hour deliveries i.e a 15 mile walk with a load of advertising on your back. It's quite demoralising when you realise that most of the stuff you deliver just goes in the bin.

8:30-9:30am without fail.

However, if my post person keeps putting dog biscuits through the letter box rewarding my dogs for barking and subsequently destroying my letter box flap when I spent ages getting them not to bark I will resort to cutting his/her damn fingers off resulting in the post being a little later for a while!
