13 grand a year to do a degree?
How the hell can people afford to do that?

If you are good enough a company or department will fund you around £6000 a year. You can make money by supervising undergraduates as well. Living costs and college fees are what they estimate you will need. Obviously you could easily live off much less than £8000 a year.

'tis why people in uni always seem to be hungry. :p People doing courses are, by law, not allowed to have money, tbh.

I had lamb steaks and a pile of chips for dinner this evening plus some rather tastey other titbits. ;) So its not entirely true. :p

If you have that more than 1-2 times a week, you're breaking the law. :p

In all seriousness though, is it really that expensive to do go to uni (average course, I'm talking about, not one with extra costs like Chemistry)?

£200 spare?

If I really wanted to buy something, I'd evaluate all my gadgetry needs and buy something that I really want and/or need. Failing that, I'd save it.

Don't buy for the sake of buying.
