What to replace a 2009 BMW 335i with?

**** that, buy it on how it makes you feel when you drive it!!!!

I'd feel extremely disappointed whilst I spent the extra 10 minutes putting in the full street name because my £40k car doesn't have 7 digit post-code search :p

How about a Porsche Panamera 4 or 4S?

It wouldn't be much newer than your E90, but is in a class (or several) above, in terms of feel, dynamics and performance - 400 bhp stock in a 4S.

Running costs a slightly different story perhaps, but then again many of the other cars mentioned so far would be similar.

That's a good shout actually, I might need to dust off my eyes a bit but I quite like how the Panemera looks...

Surely it does on a 2014 - though you'd be amazed at how long BMW took to introduce it. Mine doesn't have it for example - though it's of no value as it's far more convenient to just set destinations from my phone.

I'm a big Panamera fan. I think they look amazing, huge road presence, nice interior and quite a nice drive also. Get one with a warranty and you just can't go wrong.

Re the post code thing. It drives me mad, the list price on my car is well into 6 digits and it does not have it.

42k on something that looks like that inside :/

The 3 interior isn't that bad in the real world. What does a 535i cost with similar options - probably another £10k+

Odd isn't it, I never specced Sat Nav on my M3's even though every trader in the world told me I was mad. It wasn't worth 2400 both times and it had zero impact on my ability to trade the car and certainly didn't make my cars 2400 cheaper than those with Sat Nav. Gotta love the trade, knows it all when you're buying...

Wait, your F10 doesn't have 7 digit post code? I thought all cars with CIC had it?

Each to their own I suppose, but it would drive me nuts having to mess around sticking a sat nav to the windscreen every time I wanted to go somewhere different after buying what is otherwise quite a modern car.

Back in the early 2000s, built-in satnav wasn't that prevalent was it?

And the one in the E46 was hardly ground-breaking either.
It was great in the E39 back in 2002, sure, but it got old very quickly.

Nope, only from 09/2010 onwards.

It will appear with a firmware update and newer maps. I have the newer maps but have not had the firmware update as I've no value in it really.

On the VERY rare times I needed a map I used a.....map. ;)
