What TV shows are you currently watching

Not a series, but last night I stumbled into Hans Zimmer: Hollywood Rebel on the BBC. I confess I didn't even know he was from over here originally; hadn't paid any attention to him other than knowing he was a great movie composer. He's far more interesting than that! Far better viewing than I expected...

One episode of Sandman to go.

Gonna give it a 9/10

Really like it. Always wanting to watch another episode. The visuals, weirdness and quirky theme is sit well for me

Friday Night Live.

It’s the 80s again!

Edit…
Ben Elton still by far the best thing on it. Yes most was pretty cringe.

Just finished season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale. I always thought it should be 'Handmaiden' but there you go. I didn't realise until recently that is wasn't a period drama but about a dystopian society. I'd been avoid it previously.

Glad I started as it's fantastic. Difficult to watch at times due to the violence, treatment of people in it, but thoroughly deserves it's high 8.4/10 rating. That being said season 3 did start to get a bit too convenient and easy, and same storylines start to repeat. Still a good season though, but I might hold off for a while on Season 4.

I'd have liked them to perhaps alternate it more between life in Giliad and the resistance, political fall out etc.. I don't know how much the books go into that. It's ripe for a spin off though perhaps starting from the beginning.

Let The Right One In, pretty damn good so far.

Saw the Swedish film at the cinema, then later saw the US version which of course wasn't as dark, disturbing or atmospheric.

Didn't realise there was a series. Thanks for the heads up.

Trom is a nordic noir from the Faroe Islands.
Each episode is just around 40 minutes or so.
I recognised one of the guys who was in The Killing in it.

Despite stunning scenery I was rather underwhelmed.

I think after watching such high octane drama of the Capture, whatever I was going to watch next would be tough to follow.

Then watched Wisting which is another nordic noir.

I saw the first season last year and I wasn’t blown away by it but thought I would give this one another go.

Meh.

I just didn't find any of the characters particularly likeable.

Now onto Question Time!

I really enjoyed season 1 of Atlanta... but I don't know what happened. Maybe he went up his own... a little. Some very odd episodes in S02 and so far in S03, I guess trying to make social commentary? But, generally not very entertaining TV. IMDb ratings stay really high though...

That's an understatement. Maybe I'm just old but most of the humour just wasn't even remotely funny, with the odd exception. Thank god it was only a one-off.

Yeah, I remember the original so it had a few nostalgic half hearted chuckles but that was mostly it. Rest of the new comics were fairly poor as well

Just started The Watcher, seems quite good so far.

Based on a true story, IIRC?

I seem to be wavering now between carrying on with it and then dropping it altogether;
the main lead is not a character that I find all that enjoyable to watch.
