What TV shows are you currently watching

I slightly preferred Devs over Severance - however they both suffer the same bloat around the middle that almost made me quit both shows, had the writing been tighter especially on Severerance (could easily have been cut down by 2 episodes overall) I think i'd be gushing over it quite a bit.

I'm not knocking either show, they were both very good and we need more that breaks the normal formulaic format - I just felt with how good the standout episodes were, it made the poorer parts more apparent as though they were writing to an episode requirement rather than just telling the stories organically.

Yeah too many series are bloated and have have too much filler, that awful fairground episode in TLOU should have been 15 minutes instead of an hour for example. But that's how TV is made now, by length not quality. That series was the epitome of uneven. I'd rather watch something interesting and well-done with some bloat issues than by-the-numbers stuff though, like Mando walking simulator, where very scene and conversation is dragged out as long as possible.

Shorter length series are better IMO, everything sems to fall off after 4 series max.

THIS IS SERIOUS BECAUSE I COULD BE HAVING A BREAKDOWN.

Does anybody watch Miracle Workers?
Yesterday a new series dropped so I started watching the first one and within minutes I know I've seen it.
I looked on WIKI, TV Calendar, WIKI etc and all say it is brand new.
I go back to the episode and then I'm telling my wife what happens next confirming I have seen it before however everything tells me I couldn't have done.

Anybody in the same boat?

Recently watched S1 of lasso which was good, just watched e1 of s2 and it just seems a bit off so far like its too forced or something.
Also watched e1 of the bear which was alright, the mrs struggled with it due to how fast paced the talkin was and the shakey camera, it should come with a motion sickness warning.

That's a bummer, just started with the first 2 eps and was quietly thinking how they keep this pace up. Sounds like they don't?
In the end I'm glad I stuck with it. The concept is great and the payoff in the final episodes is worth it!

Ever wanted shows with a simple short story like Tales from the Crypt, The Twilight Zone, etc dragged over an hour and a-half long runtime? Nah, me neither but here we are
Into the Dark

3 episodes in and all have been below average. The long runtime with shallow plots means there is a lot of fluff and filter to pad out the runtime.

The Staircase.

Facinating 13 part series about the death of a North Carolina woman.

-----

The Interrogation

A one part programme detailing the exact words spoken by both Police and Tony Martin during his interview.

Played very well by Steve Pemberton.

Mid way through S3 of Fringe... It's a great ride.

Mid way though S4 of ST Discovery... It's alright.

Finished final season of Barry and the latest season on Black Mirror. Enjoyed Black Mirror and really liked the final season of Barry.

I'll be starting Band of Brothers tomorrow and then later Mrs Davies to the rotation when I've finished with Discovery.

Went back to finish off the final series of Killing Eve - what a fall from grace, first 3 seasons were top tier. Now I, along with the actors seem to just be going through the motions to finish this off in the hope of a great finale - 3 episodes left.

I thought it went off the rails in series 3 to be honest. Didn't even bother watching the final series.

My wife watched it all of series 4 without me, and then said she wished she hadn't bothered

We watched S3 straight on the back of S1 & 2 so maybe we didn't notice it as caught up in the momentum - coming back to S4 after a break probably made it more apparent.

I guess just don't really care too much who the 12 are and digging into everyone's back stories, I hate this incessant need for modern TV and movies to explain every little damn detail.
