What TV shows are you currently watching

I've recently finished off Black Sails which was good. Also finished off The Expanse last night, end felt rushed and gutted there won't be any more to finish it off, no time to read the books so it's done now.

With the writers/actors strike I shall be trying to revisit old shows and finish off loads more.

I was in the mood for some trek and was finally going to carry on and finish watching discovery before starting strange new worlds but it seems to have gone from netflix? Is this still streaming anywhere?

Paramount plus has all trek TV & movies.

If you don't want a sub, I can recommend punching yourself in the nuts instead of finishing off Discovery :D

Antoher series finished off last night. Poker Face.

A Columbo reboot in all honesty but I did enjoy the episodes, some were really good others full on cheese. The overall story arc was OK but not a lot of it. Wide open for a season 2 whenever that will be.

Started watching The Expanse on Amazon prime after seeing so many people recommending it here over the years. Not sure why I've waited so long, but I'm up to episode nine of the first season, and I'm loving it. Can't wait to work through the remaining seasons. I've not read too much as I don't want to risk spoilers, but does it wrap up nicely or was it cancelled before it could?

It wraps up as well as it can and comes to a natural end point while leaving the possibility for more seasons.

Started Manifest last night, strong start but it already feels like it’s losing its spark 8 episodes in. Hard to see how they continue this story for more than a season.
Weird that it’s billed as a sci-fi esk series when it seems to be going down a rather scientific/government conspiracy route

We felt the same way, got about half way through the season but lost interest and started something else.

It doesn't get better to be honest. Really it's network TV designed to be watched weekly, and th b the final season got bought by Netflix.

If you try to binge it you realis very soon each episode is just another "calling". The main plot of what happened to the plane moves really slowly. I even watched part one of the final season on Netflix and it's the same basic formula.

You will find out lots more about th flight etc, but you'll have to watch a lot of filler to get there.....

Thanks to a £1 a month offer from NowTV I've just finished "Call the King's Landing Midwife"... or House of the Dragon, as I believe it's usually called. Not a big fan of most of the casting, but then I thought half the original cast of GoT were shocking all the way through. Fortunately the other amazing cast members and Martin's plotting carried them bodily through the first few series. But this... well, I watched it all and the plotting was adequately involving.

But I really don't rate Matt Smith or Paddy Considine in such pivotal roles, so it was a bit of a struggle at times. I do, however, think Milly Alcock was very compelling. It was her performance which got me far enough into the series to be intrigued about how it all played out. Was disappointed to see her tag-teamed. I could have suspended my disbelief to keep her in the role... though it could have been a bit awkward with her being a bit young for the Call-the-Midwife-a-thon, but...

Anyway, I'll probably watch the next series... NowTV bargain permitting, obvs.

Classic Doctor Who via ITVX Premium

It's been fascinating rewatching all these episodes from my childhood although that was more Peter Davison onwards.

Tom Baker - never saw him at the time and thought his spell was "OK". It was definitely the last year or two of his tenure that was the best.
Peter Davison - was up until now my favourite as he was the one I remember most.
Colin Baker - didn't really like him at the time but my opinion has changed dramatically. Definitely think he's my favourite one now.
Sylvester McCoy - funny with some good stories but the acting was completely daft at times.

Beef was great, really enjoyed watching that recently.

We're currently getting our fill of Israeli tv at the moment it seems... We recently finished watching Fauda, which I'd recommend.
Now we've moved on to Hit and Run, got the last episode to watch later tonight too and really looking forward to it.
