What TV shows are you currently watching

Just got started on Yellowstone with Kevin Costner. It is a bit "Banshee-esque". Quite good - some quite hidden detail along the way so you need to pay attention.

I've just finished The Curse and whilst I thought the majority of it was pretty good, if very uncomfortable, the ending was absolutely baffling. For an hour long episode, it didn't really have much to say, and the way it said it wasn't particularly interesting. I don't know what they were thinking, but it was nowhere near the standard of the rest of the series and just felt weird for the sake of being weird.

Just started watching True Detective series 4. I've watched two episodes so far. It's a bit of a slow burn but I have a feeling it will be a very good series.

It's been around for a bit but just started watching For All Mankind on Apple TV. It's actually been around for a while, the basic premise of the show being a cross between sci-fi/sci-reality depicting an alternative history of the space race had The Soviet Union beaten the USA and made the first manned landing on the moon. Have seen it billed as similar in nature to The Expanse but I consider that a bit of a stretch, at least in Season 1. The sci-tech is still very much what was around in the late 60's/70's - lumberng behemoth chemical rockets and primitive computers. It also frequently loses pace by wandering off to focus on the personal lives of the astronauts and their families rather than ramping up the adventure side.

And got to wonder how in the 2020's they found enough actors and actresses prepared to smoke like chimneys, to convey a more authentic feel to the era!

Watching 15 Storeys with Sean Lock after some of the comments here, 2 seasons, 12 episodes total.

Very funny and very much a sign of the times back then. On final episode of S2, but found S1 to be better, however, a couple of classics in S2 - Sean going for the Pool Manager job, Errol smoking etc. The plough and Vicar episode was genius - sooooo funny.

Quicksand (Störst av allt) - A school shooting takes place at a Senior High School. At the age of 18, Maja Norberg is arrested and suspected of murder, while her ex-boyfriend, Sebastian Fagerman, is dead at the scene. Maja admits the murder at an early stage but denies the crime – the trial is rather about why the murder was committed than whether it was committed.

My partner and I enjoyed it, good acting and was thought-provoking.
