What TV shows are you currently watching

After all the Emmy hype I watched 2 shows that I avoided last year.

Beef 5/10 . Didn't really enjoy it after 2 episodes, but stuck with it due to the hype. Liked it even less by the time I finished it found it more sad and depressing than the comedy I was (maybe wrongly) expecting

The Bear. No rating as I only watched 3 episodes and then gave up. Not really that funny and as above more sad and depressing and brooding in the parts I saw.

After 2 crappy shows I'm sticking to some comfort viewing for the next few weeks. Started watching the Apprentice UK from season 5 backwards all the way to season 1. Much better than the newer seasons, but still more than enough classic cringe moments!

just binged Kin S2

i didn't think it could beat S1, but the arrival of Bren. and the introduction of the Batuk family took it to the next level

Michael 'the Magician' is a hard act to follow!

I thinking the same with Beef. I will probably stick with it.

Well done for finishing Beef. I couldn't. I thought it was poor from the start and after 4 or 5 episodes I stopped watching it. Nothing about the show was funny. The same for The Bear. I liked it a little more than Beef and managed to finished the season but won't bother with season 2. I just don't care about the characters to watch further.

I watched Squid Game after trying those two shows which I thought was ok. And then moved on to Wednesday (it's on Netflix) and am really enjoying it. It's easy, comfort viewing. Give it a go if you are stuck for something to watch.

Just finished up The Squid Game on Netflix.

I really enjoyed the first few episodes and thought it was going to be a brilliant show. However, apart from a few good moments, the last few episodes were poor. And I thought the final episode was particularly bad. It's not something I will ever watch again.
I think it was one of the most over rated shows on recent memory. Not sure why but it seemed to just come out at a time that captured loads of attention. I didn't get it at all

Rewatching Band of Brothers. Absolute quality viewing, holds up perfectly.

May try Masters of the Air afterwards.

Otherwise we are in need of something else. Watched This Country sitcom series recently and adored it. Up there with the best imo

Culprits on Disney Plus

Not bad. They use showing events in three different timelines quite well. Turned out a bit simpler than you think it might at the outset.

I liked Squid Game, although I watched it when it first came out and the hype was off the charts.

Wednesday is another show I've avoided last year, something in my head says I won't like it. The same niggling feeling I had about Bear and Beef tbh. BUT, i'll check out the 1st couple of episodes at some point.

A Murder at the End of the World - quite good who dunnit albeit with a lot of flashbacks.

Just started Fool Me Once (another Harlan Coben American novel reset in north West England - the third or fourth one Netflix have done). It's good and twisty but jarring with British actors using Americanisms one character referred to a DUI last night...

Just finished watching The Crowded House an Apple TV+. It's one of the best things I've watched in quite a while, although it's subject matter isn't light hearted for sure. Solid acting throughout by the cast including Tom Holland. I'd give it a solid 9/10 for the story, acting and atmosphere it creates. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt14417718/

Alchemy of Souls. Quite enjoyed the first series, not really the sort of thing I'd normally watch at all. Almost pantomime in places but good fun with lots going on.

Well, maybe I might be over liking Wednesday too much. The three shows I watched before it were The Bear, Beef and The Squid Game. So, maybe Wednesday isn't that good, it's just the other shows were so bad and my brain is happy to watch anything at this stage :p
