What TV shows are you currently watching

Just finished Black Doves. It starts off strong with a hint of a Guy Ritchie vibe, but the story becomes increasingly ridiculous as it progresses. Then it wraps up with the most out-of-place and cringeworthy Christmas ending, which will have you questioning if you just watched a show about the dangerous London underworld or a more violent version of Love Actually.

I think I'm going to start the day of the Jackal, Black Doves and Slow horses soon - which as a knock on effect has gotten me thinking about re-watching spooks.

Ah, that's a shame, I was looking forward to watching this. Don't think I'll bother!

Guilty pleasure but just caught up with Shrinking season 2. It's quite entertaining
It is good, similar to Ted Lasso, it shouldn't really work and teeters occasionally to a the wrong side of a line....I'm not even sure what the line is......but just about stays the right side of it, and is genuinely funny at times, and offset with some pretty dark underlying themes. Looking forward to the last ep.

Started our annual MasterChef the Professionals watch for 2024. Always a joy to watch people in the industry come and blossom. And some great food too. Only finished EP 1 yesterday and there's already nine there! So with moderation should see us through to crimbo.
G'wan Dan. Great cooking this year. Chiara was very strong considering her lack of experience. I think that she will go far. George has a great day, but I never expected him to win, even with his flawless three plates. And well done that Dan. Grafter and has so much skill and knowledge.

What will happen next year with Wallace unlikely to come back as accusations mount?

There's 12 episodes this season so we still have two more to go!

Two episodes in to Black Doves.

It's a bit naff to be honest, know idea why it's got rave reviews. As I'm basically a third if the way through I'll probably finish it. But if there's a second season I'm out.

I’ve been watching Midnight Mass, which is a Netflix limited horror series similar-ish to the likes of The Haunting of Hill House.

It’s really good. The themes are subject to taste, some will like it more than others, but the acting is absolutely top notch from pretty much the whole cast. Like, damn, you forget these people are actors!

The overall story is quite heavily foreshadowed if you’re familiar with classic horror tropes, so it loses a bit of tension when you realise that’s the direction. Otherwise, generally outstanding.

I've been holding off, purely for those rare times I can sit down and dedicate time to a few episodes in a segment - it's reassuring to hear positive sentiment.
Into Season 3 now and just keeps getting better. Love seeing how the Slough House folk get out of seemingly inescapable and potential deadly situations.

Did look in the library earlier in the week for the books it's based on, but quell surprise not in there. So looks like it will be Waterstones or Amazon to grab those.
