My GT30 has a cracked screen and won't turn on anymore. Trying to think of what 50-55" TV would be a suitable replacement. I don't want to spent too much though as I am waiting for 4K OLED to come down in price, so maybe £700 max for a new TV. It will mostly be used for PS4 4K, blurays and Netflix. I doubt many LCD's will provide image quality as good as the GT30 but anything close would be great. Will be used with a Yamaha YSP7200 so must have ARC. I'm not bothered about smart TV features either as I have external devices for that. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

If i was in your shoes id go for the 2016 ks7000 that can be had for slightly more in your budget. May drop to your budget when the 2017 tv's become more available in stores. Even the OLED'S may come down in price when the 2017 range come out so you might get an 2016 OLED for £1500

Well i deffo would not go there for a new TV saying it has a small black mark. I could not live with that id be looking for the mark everytime watching the TV LOLOL

They also have the 55" for £50 more, Bargain at that price!

Ah just noticed that those are seconds.
it is without doubt a good bargain but how much of a real bargain is it when the content is only so small at the moment if you have SKY Q sub with multiroom for UHD or 4k movies to watch then great. All my collection are BluRays. And deffo would not buy into SKY Q

If it's just for a stopgap then maybe look second hand? What price are you waiting for OLED to drop to, btw? I'd rather put £700 towards one right now.

I was hoping you might be able to pick a 1080p OLED up for less than 1k but can't find any. Looks like the going rate for 4k OLED is 2k minimum.

Went to Sevenoaks today and the guy told me that unless I buy an OLED TV, none of the TVs on sale will come close to replacing my gt30 :(

Well I was told the same when I replaced my 46" gt30 plasma last year.

I ended up with the Panasonic 58" 902 series tv. Granted black levels aren't as good as my plasma but it's a terrific tv for the price I got it for.

Interesting. Will check it out. I've got my eye on the Sony 55XD9305 but thinking of waiting till the new models come out and the price drops on these.

Wait and go OLED. I know it's expensive, but it's the only night and day upgrade from what you have. Plasmas nailed dark grey, but OLED has black blacks. I've come close to buying various FALD panels over the last year or so and it just isn't worth it. Splash out a little and enjoy :)

Honesty mate I wish could but I have no TV in the living room, which means no PS4 or blurays, and I don't have the money to spend on OLED.
