What TV to Replace My P50GT30?

Hi guys, so I ended up going through my house insurance as I have accidental damage on my policy. Figured that for the small increase in premium I'd get it would be worth making use of the policy. Especially as I didn't at the time have much money to spend on a tv.
So they have offered me either a Panasonic tx55802b or £949 currys voucher. I'm going to guess that I most people will say put an extra £500 in and get an LGB6V OLED. Any worthy contenders that have good picture quality and 10bit HDR panel? I really want decent HDR for gaming.

Over the LG 55b6v? There's a £100 price difference (panny being less) but I've heard the 902b is very good.
Excellent tv, had had mine since last Nov and absolutely love it. Think I paid about £1900 but now has dropped to about £1300ish at currys now.

Mine is the 58" version of the 802b series.

I've managed to get the insurance company to agree to replacing my TV with the LG55B6V or a similar product. They've given me a Currys voucher worth £1497 (todays price on the LG) so I think I'll go compare the 902b and the B6v side by side and see which one I prefer.

who is your insurance with?

seems crazy an insurance company would pay out £1500 for a what 5 year old tv worth £200-£300

Axa. Accidental damage. Whole point of the insurance is to get you back into the position you were in before the accident. My argument was if they gave me a back-lit led TV then I would be in a worse position in terms of black levels and picture quality.

seems crazy to me, but a lot of things don't make sense so probably right. i'll need to check my insurance. so i take it you need to pay excess and your premium will go up for the next 5 years?

I think a 55" will overpower my Bedroom.

Are the smaller model just as good?

OLED doesn't come in anything smaller than 55". if you want smaller then it's LCD's your looking at

i got burgled a couple of years back . claimed for 22k , my insurance went up £30 a year because i listed the TV and projector (which i didn't do the first time ...to my cost!!!)_

did you tick the box where it says have you made any claims in the past 5 years? and then fill out the details of the claim? or was this with the same company and auto-renewed?

same company , the most important thing to take from my experience is if you have any AV gear individually valued over 1.5k you need to list it or thats all you will get back .

Don't get the Panasonic, get the B6. It's much better and doesn't have the weird motion smearing of the 902. I've had both and the B6 is great. Particularly with the prices being much lower now too.

My axa policy has a single item limit of 8k.very useful for laptops, av, jewellery etc.

Just in comparison I had panasonic cx802, samsung ks9000 and LG OLED c6. Nothing, really comes close to OLED. cx and ks have poor viewing angles, poor colors, there is nothing near blacks that OLEDS have, webOS (LG) is so much more intuitive and fun to operate with LG remote (which works like nintendo wii remote).
KS also looks like it has flashlights at the edges, I'm surprised how Samsung could push something so low quality as one of the highest models from last year (well this year they are still pushing edge backlight in the second tier).

B6 is the way to go if you have the option (I went for curved C6 as it was cheaper at the time, it has the same SOC as higher models and it wasn't confirmed at the time, that UK B-series would get HDR gaming mode update)

edit,

forgot to add, I went to LCD from plasma GT30 as well and wasn't impressed with quality of current LCD technology. My CX802 had dark lines, panel uniformity was poor and with Samsung edge light was the biggest issue. Difficult to accept after plasma:/
