What was your first Console you had/owned

My first ever console was the SEGA Game Gear. (My god it just ate batteries). But now have an xbox and xbox 360. Still have the game gear somewhere but can't remember where I put it. :D

Oh god.... *old git feeling rise*

Pong machine...
Then an Atari 2600 *wooden one* - Still got it somewhere.

Still - hit a peak with the CD32 and it's been pretty much downhill from there. :(

Xbox360 has sat unused for 5 weeks now.
Xbox is unused for months at a time
PS2 has been boxed up for a year.
PS1 has been boxed up for several years

Snes, N64, Gamecube, Nes, MD+MegaCD+32x, Mastersystem and Dreamcast all see more action that the recent consoles.

The first one I actually owned would be the MegaDrive or GameGear but my brothers had the Atari 2600, Spectrum and an Amiga well before then.

The first console I ever owned was a HES (Hirst Entertainment System).

My dad made a tank-battle console which was part of a weekly section in an old Radio Shack publication. Think it cost about £7 to make back in 1979 and took about 6 weeks for all the instruction to be published.

But other than that, a good old Atari 2600 that my cousin gave me as she prefered her barbie :D

Is a Speccy a console or a PC....or both? If it counts, then it would be my old Speccy 48k. If not, my SNES in 1993 - with the Star Fox bundle. Happy days!

I considered it a console as I did nothing on it that wasnt gaming. Infact I dont think we owned any non game applications. But I see what your saying.

Speccy +2 if your counting 8bit computers (Despite the thread title - LOL)

If not, then:

Nintendo Gameboy.

Mario and the 6 gold coins.

How cool was that game?

My first was the Atari 2600 which I ended up giving to a cousin because I played Pole Position too much and ignored schoolwork :D :( My last console would be either the Sega Master System or the Game Gear which was a portable master system, can't recall which I had last. The latter ate through AA batteries like no tommorow.

My first proper and most loved console was the PC Engine. Tech wise it was groundbreaking and years ahead of the competition. *sniff* /me remembers R-Type

I had one of them pong machines, also had other games(squares moving on the screen). Very vague but I was quite young.

Snes :D

went out to get a nes for my birthday but the snes had come out a month or 2 before it and so i ended up comming home with a snes, best choice ive ever made :D

My first proper console was a Sega Mega Drive (The original one), however I was playing computer games long before then on my Dad's Amstrad CPC 464.

Playstation, i'd been a home computer person up to that point.

*edit* Actually thinking about it, i had a CD32 before i had the Playstation.

I know, it's not a console, but back then things were a little different to today. Besides, I think that the thread starter really meant to say 'Games machine', as he/she has not specifically said that we can't include speccys et al. Plus, it's boring if we restrict choice to consoles only, because we just get 'SNES', 'Mega Drive', 'Master System', 'NES', repeated in random order.

So, feast your eyes on a real machine, young ens!
