Well I owned a ZX Spectrum and got a hand me down pentium PC years later. But the 1st one I bought with my own money was an AMD Athlon 64, 2ghz but Oc'd to a whopping 2.2ghz! :)

In terms of PC's, it was an LG 286 @ 12Mhz (which I then overclocked :D). Was the fastest 286 out there at the time as most were only 8Mhz lol (from what I remember). That was the house PC.

The first CPU I bought myself was a 486DX2 @ 66Mhz which was pretty much cutting edge at the time.

The first computer I had for me (it was a gift) was an Oric. So much better than a spectrum :-)

As a latecomer to the pc world my first cpu was an Athlon XP 1900+, went to a computer fair to grab everything I needed to put a system together, still recall grabbing the mobo, cpu, case, ram etc and feeling a rush then getting it home and putting it together. having it post and boot first time was a true joy.

had been into home computers for a while though, the first being a texas instruments Ti 99 4A

Although i didnt know it at the time it was a 486 SX 25mhz, it was inside this fat AT case that said collossus in front of it, it also had a keyhole for some reason heh.

Mine would be a Intel P1 75mhz and it played Descent so well :D
Also had a C64 and a IBM com but I can't remember what was in it :O
Then to a AMD K7 700mhz and my god was that an upgrade

First one used was as a sysadmin on a IBM ATE (286-12MHz, 512Kb, 20MB Disk) that ran a multi-user OS with 8 users.

First one I owned personally was a Pentium-90.
