What watch do you wear?

I'm certain I've caused it - see previous post; I washed then disassembled then reassembled. By rice/silica you mean with the back off?
Yeah open up the back (not needed but quicker), stick the watch in a sealed tub with rice/silica gel pack (like when you order stuff) - don't cover watch. Plenty of more detailed guides online, usually about how to fix a mobile phone after dropping in the toilet lol.

If you want you can disassemble again and try and get the obvious moisture out first, it will mostly just save some time overall though.

Doesn't even need to be silica, just open the back and leave it near a radiator overnight dial facing down, the latent moisture will evaporate into the air by morning. Job's jobbed.

'evening gents

wondering if anyone could reccommend a company that does service/refurbishment on electronic watches?

i've got an old citizen that's dead, (local watchmaker said it's a 3801A mechanism but didn't want to commit to replacing it). citizen themselves won't look at it as it's too old.

You will likely find the same situation I did when trying to get someone to replace the EL backlight on my rare Casio from 1995. Nobody makes parts for these any more so my only option was to hope someone was selling a similar model with the same module inside and strip it for parts. I got lucky and found a guy selling the standard model but the module was the same so the EL backlight panel was a match.

aye that's what the local basically said, try and find a working example on the 'bay to harvest.

watch doesn't seem that old, but i'm not exactly a judge of these things. twas my grandfathers so would be nice to get it running again.

First time wearing my Bremont in a while. I usually wear my Apple Watch day to day but I'm off out for dinner and a visit to the pub so thought I'd put it on for a change.

I see no obvious way to access said spring bar, but I am no expert.

Yes it’s a spring bar, as said you use the tool and push the strap to the side. You can see how you do it on the YouTube vid below. Its not a Portuguese but the principle is the same

Update on the Barton strap! I got an email this evening from then apologising for the situation. They are sending me the correct strap combination and also said I can have another strap on the house, so have chosen the brown version which I can put onto the Stowa

Happy now, the straps are genuinely very nice quality (it's hard to tell from the stock images, but in the hand the feel is excellent) and soft so I was a bit bummed out at the lack of support before and was dead set on never buying a strap from them!

On another note, I looked at getting a Hamilton buckle for one of my other straps I wanted to rotate on the Khaki with and had to close the tab laughing. £70+ for a flipping 18mm buckle?!! I know I've spent a lot on straps and OEM buckles in the past but £70 on just a buckle alone is a bit OTT :p

Currently wearing my Tudor BB58 as my daily Tudor BB is at the AD for a service, it's stopped a couple of times recently and after 7 years of daily abuse time for a service. Looking at getting an Everest strap for it, so would like to find a UK retailer to look at the straps, although I fear they'll all be London based etc.

When I was at the AD, hopefully we might see the Batman that I'm on the list for this year. Also put myself on the list for a couple of speculation pieces from Tudor / Rolex. 58 sized chrono, alternative GMT colours etc.

Looking at getting an Apple watch for when I head out on my bike as decided wearing my BB / Pelagos isn't prob the best idea.

Latest addition. My two favourite daily watches are in for service, the Tudor BB and the Omega. I had an Omega until 2014, sold it during a house purchase and totally regretted it, so I purchased another at just over twice the price now.

The Seiko is the most important watch there for personal reasons, all the others meaningless compared to that.

Spot on!

It's our collab watch with them fella.

The joys of not getting the loupe magazine sent out automatically.... why they stopped that I have no idea. Guessing the 'cross' in the logo is for the Scottish flag side of things.

Shame it's not GMT, I quite like the sealander gmt and that looks a nice shade of blue.

PS Congrats on the collab :)

Omega service messaged me today, very happy that they’re replacing the bezel FOC.

Good Afternoon,

Yes indeed we have recieved the watch.

The job number is - .

We are carrying out a full service for the watch. We have also included a Free of charge bezel replacement.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Thought I'd share a quick snap of my favourite watch - it's been my favourite for quite a long time now.
Love it for so many reasons - the lugs are a beautiful complex curve and hollow, too, while the screws that secure the bracelet have an imprinted montblanc logo similar to a torx drive...

Impressive articulation on those lugs and links - Cannot help but think in a brushed or satin finish that whole thing would look sublime

Never seen that one before! Love it! Had the opportunity to interview their CEO last year and its a brand that is doing very well with watches but finding it difficult to shake the pens and luggage tag they have.
