What watch do you wear?

After the Bel Canto from Christopher Ward, they bring out the new Loco for 2025, I really like this, and Christopher Ward has impressed me ever since the Twelve with their innovation and bringing complicated complications to a more affordable range!

Can't say I'm a fan of this at all, it looks like a fake tourbillon wannabe, it's certainly not going to live up to the Bel Canto being a 'basic' Sonnerie au Passage watch, that was, and is, truly unique for the price.

It's my 40th soon and I'm considering a nice watch (I currently don't have a watch), I could use a little guidance on what to look at. Budget up to £1,000. Generally it will be worn all the time, except when sleeping or at the gym.

In my initial search I've seen this which I like the look of.

I have small wrists, so I think 36mm will suit me better. My previous watches have all been Apple Watches and I've always gone with the smaller size.

Nothing wrong with a 36mm. I've got a 7 1/2" wrist and I have a bunch of smaller watches. So many options under a grand, new and secondhand. Do you think you'll get into watch collecting, or are you after a go anywhere / do anything watch?

This. I don't think I'll be collecting. I'm looking for new, it's a gift my parents want to buy me.
It's a nice looking piece and should serve you well, definitely more versatile than the Twelve series. Maybe have a look at the Sealander GMT 36mm and the Trident Pro 300 38mm too? With a haggle you/your parents can bring those prices down.

Pop into Time+Tide in London, a nice range of watches from the smaller brands to have a look at in one place.

It's crazy how expensive Christopher Ward watches are now. I remember when they first started - the Trident series were a couple of hundred squids. I was going to gift my best men those watches but instead went with the Visodate instead.

I am slowly tiring of using my Apple Watch 8 or 9, which was primarily for health (health is good now) tracking so I'm probably going to return to my analogue watch collection at some point. I need to get my Tissot PRS516 cleaned up and adjusted for my now smaller wrists.

I am considering a bronze watch, something that will develop a patina over time and the CW C60 Bronze looks spot on.

Nice and budget friendly

I'm still searching. I think I'm leaning towards the 39mm Sealander. I tried on a Tag Heur 41mm and it looks good.

This is the 41mm Tag I tried on.

The trident Pro 300 looks nice in navy.

I'm thinking of getting a CW C60 Trident Pro with the black dial, I did like the older gen that they had in Purple but a quick look on the site and no longer sell

I'm a big fan of the white and green dial sealander GMTs. Excellent watch for the money I'd say.

I’d go for the gmt. It’s a good complication to have, I use the gmt on one of my watches all the time when travelling.

Can anyone recommend a service centre for a Seiko sportura? It is about 19 years old and has never been serviced.

Ideally I’d want battery, seal and pressure tested.

I'd be contacting this lot:

You can use their guide to find out the model you have and I think get a quote. I have not used them myself but have seen them recommended for Kinetic servicing (which I'm assuming yours is).
