What watch do you wear?

Yep, regulation could help. The mako USA uses a movement based on a Seiko calibre 7006 from the 1970's, (seiko own orient). There can be quite a variation in accuracy with Seiko 7 series movements but they can respond well to regulation.

Thanks guys, I'd read about regulation, decided it looked like fun and I just had a go.

Luckily I have access to a small toolkit for watches. I did some Googling and watched a youtube video, then opened up the watch. I downloaded the hairspring app to my phone. Then you plug in the headset and put the watch on the microphone.

It says it's now +2-3 seconds a day. If that's right then it will be a vast improvement. I'll see how it is over the next few days. The beat rate lever only needs the tiniest movement, at one point I ended up at -300 seconds a day :p

Good result Nick.:)

Got the oyster onto my 007 earlier. Such a difference compared to the horrible looking rubber. Curse to fit to the case but easily sized.

New watch from Steinhart, the Ocean One bronze. 3 different strap and bezel combinations. Must say I do like the look of the C2 green bezel. Might wait until some real life shots appear to get a better idea of what it looks like in reality.

My automatic Casino Royale Omega Seamaster has stopped ticking after 10 years of loyal service :( I have been quoted £400~ to repair it, the spring needs tightening. Does that sound right before I empty my wallet?

I've had my Speedy 30th anniversary for a few months now and finally got used to wearing it. As I mentioned when I first got it I hadn't worn a watch for many years so struggled to keep anything on my wrist.

But now I couldn't be happier with it. I adore the thing and it sits well with any strap and any colour and goes with anything I wear from shorts or jeans to a suit. It's fast become one of my most precious possessions regardless of value (my original posts explain why I wanted this particular watch and why it means a lot to me). I genuinely can't see a time where I would ever part with it.

I've managed to put a few marks and scratches on it already, despite being careful. Maybe they will polish out. But considering it's my watch for life and will be handed to my son it's just part of the character I give it. I recently saw someone wearing a new one and the newer bracelets look so chunky compared to the 1498 tapered bracelet on mine (although I tend to wear it on a nato most days for comfort).

I'm half considering something else to wear as well such as a Steinhart, Seiko or maybe a CWC diver, but it would be an addition rather than a replacement.

The first two do absolutely nothing for me. But I really love number 3, which is odd as they are the same watch. But the colour combination of number 3 just works for me :)

I love Steinhart as a brand, but tbh im not that keen on their latest bronze offering. In that bracket id go for a grupo gammo. But i do like Steinhart, im gonna be ordering an ocean black DLC. Black strap and case, same 300m water resistance as the rest of their range, but no cyclops for the date window. Still a wee bit sub homage, but you cannot buy a totally black rolex submariner from rolex. I think there's a company who will DLC a sub for you, which on a watch like that is mental.

Me either, i love the look of any rolex submariner. But at 40mm theyre a bit small even for my skinny wrist. I do own several sub homage watches, but they use a wider case, (including the crown) than the originals. My favourire dive watches are the tudor pelagos and the omega seamaster professional 300m blue diall bezel. The latter is pretty accesible, £1700.00 for a good example. To buy a submariner your probably talking £4000.00 for a non date model. Yet oddly a guy i knew who was a professional diver didnt rate rolex or omega at all, (north sea oill rig diver) too complicated, to expensive to service. He prefered cheap seiko's such as the 007/9 or doxa's.

I'm liking that a lot :)

Thanks :)

Nice dial on that, seen a few of this brand on fb and always thought they looked good.

Ta, nice bracelet too !

So a few more snaps

A lot of watch (and accessories) for the money - made even better with the 20% off deal. Also ordered on the Friday and was delivered (from China) on the Wednesday - no fees / import (Fedex)

This is the second of their watches I have and they are great quality and appear pretty much bombproof - well chuffed

I wasn't aware of grupo gamma. Interesting

Saw the Mont Blanc Timewalker in store today, the version with the oyster dial and rose gold markers and hands and brown leather strap looked so good in the flesh. The case and lug design is very unique as well. This one had the exhibition back.

I think as a dress watch it looked fantastic and certainly one I'd like to own one day.
