What watch do you wear?

What did this set you back may I ask?

Thanks

if this is a new one, it's around 4K (!). Can't beleive I bought one of these last year. Looks awesome, but it's big! :-)

So, I just made a big of a 'punt'.

Bought the following:

Parnis 40mm Sapphire, Automatic.

It's a homage to one of my favourite watches, the Rolex Datejust. I'm just hoping it does not suck.

Cost £77.

After discovering a twisted end link on my invicta beater, i decided to take the bracelet off and stick it on a NATO strap.

Less rattly and very comfortable. May invest in a few more for my other watches.

So with my 30th coming up next month I was thinking of treating myself to a new watch. I've spied a Breitling that I really like, but at £4.3 its not exactly cheap :)

What are the general thoughts on Breitling, are they worth the premium?

Watch in question: http://www.breitling.com/en/models/avenger/super-avenger-ii/

I have a 44mm Flying Fish, which feels amazing quality, when I compare it to my 2 Tags, they feel cheap by comparison. Are they worth the premium? Only you can decide that. I did look at Omega's, Rolex's etc before getting this watch, and I just preferred it, but it comes down to personal preference, but it does feel and look like its worth the money to me. Also check out service costs, as they aren't cheap.

Also as above, 48mm is massive, so if you have slight wrists, it will look stupid, my 44mmm is borderling on my wrists, and they are very heavy.

LOL Yeah, I have apparently large wrists at 7.5", and my 45mm Omega is the largest I would wear.. 48mm is to attach to your biceps ? ;-)

I like it, especially without a name etc; it borderline looks better than a real one. I always think branding, logo and other useless text debases the looks on a watch..

So i'm in a position where i can comfortably purchase myself a watch (have wanted one for so long now, just always talked myself out of buying!). I wanted peoples opinions on

I really loved it when I originally saw it, although i'm wondering if I might regret it later on instead or purchasing the classic

or maybe a mix of v

Anyone have any thoughts on the movements of these 3 as well (bit of an amateur when it comes to this!).

Really not liking the GMT.

First one is a great looking sports watch but I think the 2nd watch would be the best all rounder.

just be aware that the omega will lose at least 20% as you walk out the boutique. best to buy second hand on anything other than a rolex.

as for the watch, then i think the chrono looks a bit fussy on a diver generally. guessing youve looked at the 3 hander already.

Whilst rolex watches are lovely, but the submariner. At 40mm wide, it's like a womens watch. Beautiful piece but even if i had the money i wouldnt buy one. Sea dweller, yes in a heartbeat. Imho rolex arent a very forward thinking company. Whereas omega continue to push design and development.

Old and battered, but when I do actually wear a watch it'll be one of these.

Both at least 10 years older than me, but still keep good time when wound.
Very nice, i love the Tissot on the left. Now i know nothing about the other one. Im looking into buying a dress watch and have narrowed the choice down to a Tissot visiodate or a Le Locle. White dial in both cases. I mainly collect divers, but not ideal for formal wear.

Both early 1960's.

The one on the right was my Father's 21st birthday watch and has had a very hard time.

The Tissot was my paternal Grandfather's and is in better condition than the photo suggests. It's also gold rather than well worn gold plate.

They both have basically the same automatic Swiss movement from the era.
