What watch do you wear?

My dad's rose gold IWC Portuguese has a prettied up valjouz in it. High end makers have used Eta, valjouz etc. for ever. Tudor and ETA go back decades as said.

Up to the individual to decide how they feel about it I guess.

As for straps and bracelets, in my view they do shine a light on brand mark up that can't be ignored. The steel bracelet for my memovox is about £900 or something (probably much more, as it was years ago when I checked - thankfully I don't want it!)

The worst examples for me are natos and rubber because the mark up is so obvious and can't be hidden behind materials or crafstamanship

that's horrbile

Thats not very nice considering what it must have cost! :p

I'm not a fan of the massive wheel things (the name of which I forget), especially with numbers on. And I personally don't much like metal straps, but different strokes for different folks.

Its still a very nice thing. :)

They're called circletrons.

Thank you for using the correct term of metal straps rather than the ridiculous bracelet term people seem to chuck around.

You are thinking of a numerical turnoscope.

Still want a Steinhart Ocean One... May treat myself soon... :)

What are the feelings on rubber straps vs leather straps for comfort? I think the last tine I had a rubber strap it made my wrist feel a bit clammy/sweaty, is leather any better? If not then perhaps the Nato strap mrk mentioned would do.

Metal straps pull my hair... :p

Jesus wept, they are bracelets. Metal straps are used for bondage (presumably, I wouldn't know), bracelets are used for stopping your watch from falling off your wrist when you scratch your head to wonder what that thing holding your watch on is called.

OK I'll try a few types of watch strap. ;)

If I Google 'watch bracelet' the first four results say 'watch straps', and a little further down one is titled 'watch bracelets' but the website is straps4watches.co.uk. :p

The category on Amazon/etc is also 'watch straps'!

Fussy boots.

Quite like the look of the black Ocean 1 with the black and grey Nato ... bracelet. :p

NONONO..........a nato is a strap. As is a leather strap. A rubber strap is also a strap unless it is a bracelet (ie made of links!) :p

A metal bracelet is a bracelet. You could probably try to fashion a strap out of mercury.

Love the BLNR. Congrats

Did you pick it up brand new?
Only ask as there seems to be no SS Rolex Sports watches @ any UK AD at the moment

Thanks. Yeah picked it up brand new. :D

Been waiting 6 months for one to pop up. Yeah I've noticed that as well, I'm also after a Green Sub, but still waiting on that.
A certain well known used watch website are selling SS rolex' at a big premium over list price.

I've been hearing the usual rumours from AD's of Rolex increasing their prices this year, maybe that's why supply is low at the moment?

I must have rang almost every AD in the U.K. All claim they have no stock.

Been hunting for either a green sub or blue, black GMT as a wedding gift for a friend.
Want to buy from an AD is I want my friends name on the paperwork and the fact that I refuse to pay the ridiculous premiums pre-owned & grey dealers are asking.

Thats what I meant! :p

OK sure, got it now. Cut me some slack Jack, I have had the same £60 Pulsar for the last decade, and my Omega barely ever gets worn, this is new to me! :(
