What watch do you wear?

Just ordered via the site, had to re register though as they had lost my details. Long shot maybe, but the owner/ceo is pretty active on many watch groups on facebook. You may be able to message him that way.

Already left a "please get in touch with me" comment on their facebook page last week, looks it will have to be a local watchmender at my cost, not good that :(
Cheers
Dave

Best place for a strap replacement on my Longines master? It's currently brown leather crocodile thing one, I think... Started to tear around the clasp, as it is getting on, just want to be able to wear it again.

Local watch mender cannot locate parts to repair anywhere :(
Spent a long time phoning trying to get an answer and watch is now going back to Steinhart.
Cheers

I highly rate steinharts customer service. I recently purchased a second hand watch which developed a fault. I went to a few repair shops who couldn't solve the problem. So I sent an email to Steinhart who soon replied asking me to send it to Germany. After explaining that I bought it second hand I expected them to quote me a price on the repair, but within 2 weeks it was on its way back to me good as new and free of charge.

I dropped my datejust and the glass smashed. Sent it off to Rolex and they want just over £1018 to fix it and replace the dial and hands. I couldn't see anything majorly wrong with the dial or the hands but they said they do not have the ability to show me what the damage on the dial is but their assessment is it needs to be replaced. They have the ability to charge me £1000 but won't show me what is wrong with it? That's nuts.

Anyone dealt with them before?

Wow that's a complete ****!

My crown won't screw in on my Tudor oyster date, looks like the thread has stripped on the case side. I'm unsure (haven't looked in to it) if it's built in to the case, if it is that's a bugger.

How old is it? I've heard stories of them behaving irritatingly with anything even remotely 'not new', by trying to replace parts that are showing any kind of patina or age, and not giving you the option of keeping the aged parts installed.

Unless you care about resale and not having the work done by Rolex, get it done elsewhere. Plenty of good watchmakers out there with parts (even if they're officially not supplied with them).

Had one Rolex repaired by Rolex before and the work was superb but, as you have found out, expensive

Your home contents insurance should pick up the bill though

Latest purchase. Steinhart ocean black DLC. Ordered direct from Steinhart in Germany last Thursday, arrived today. Bit more expensive than the ocean green I bought earlier in the year.
