As the title says, option 1 or 2?
Also which way would you have the fans on the cpu cooler?

If using two fans, have one on the front of the cooler pushing air through the fins, the second fan should be mounted on the rear to pull air.

Pic of my old TRUE push/pull setup.

Note the label in the centre of the front fan, the fan on the rear of the cooler has its label side facing the backside of the cooler, check your fans for direction of rotation and airflow, most have arrows engraved on the frame now to indicate this.

That was my thought, if I did mount it that way what way would you have the fans blowing?

First image :)

The second fan draws the air from the first and passes it towards the extract fan.

The second picture you would cancel each other out, all things being equal.

Yep, first image. Below pic shows a sort of exploded image of how a push/pull config is set up.

You wont be disappointed with it, I used one on my i7 setup before going watercooled and it has to be one of the good air cooler I have used :)

just bumping this thread for a bit more advice. I only have 4 fans, so I have to decide;
Install 3 to the case and one to the heatsink?
Or 2 to the case and 2 to the heatsink?

2 at the front with 2 on the heatsink I'd say is best.

Never been a fan (lol) of fans on the bottom, as they're not going to have as high flow and are more likely to bring dust etc into the system.

There is no fan at the bottom :D That arrow is to represent to PSU air :o

It's either, 2 fans at the front, 1 on the heatsink and 1 at the back
or
1 at the front, 2 on the heatsink and 1 at the back.
