I would be inclined to mount as shown in the first picture.
That was my thought, if I did mount it that way what way would you have the fans blowing?

The second fan draws the air from the first and passes it towards the extract fan.
The second picture you would cancel each other out, all things being equal.

No probs,definitely still one of the best air coolers you can get.
You wont be disappointed with it, I used one on my i7 setup before going watercooled and it has to be one of the good air cooler I have used![]()
2 at the front with 2 on the heatsink I'd say is best.
Never been a fan (lol) of fans on the bottom, as they're not going to have as high flow and are more likely to bring dust etc into the system.
fans push air in direction of the 4 bars holding it in
