What would the reaction be to a song about gay love?

Was just listening to Scissor Sisters, who are probably the most gay current band, which led me thinking to all the fine homosexual musicians who have written songs about heterosexual love...

I cannot think of a single song that is overtly about gay love - is it just not acceptable?
 
perhaps there are not many becuase it would be sure fire loser in the charts and no decent minded straight person would buy it?

Yes, but none are overt. There are also lots of songs written about women by gay men - Queen with songs like 'Fat Bottomed Girls' or Laura by Scissor Sisters.

One of his recent songs had the line (or soemthing like this) "I want love, a different kind of love" I think.

Tatu some of their songs were about lesbian love? They were just players though and pretty fake but am sure they were dirty filthy russian bi's in reality.

There are songs about gay love, just discreet. I think of songs such as Fastlove and Outside by George Michael where a female audience is not the target.

I have made my points clear before on homosexuality in that it doesn't bother me in the slightest and if people wish to sing about it then who am I to voice an opinion of negativity ?

love is love, no matter who is involved.
the love between a man and a woman is no different than the love between two men.
or three men
or two men and a woman
or two women.
or a man and his PC.
