What would you buy with £4.5K?

Hmm the Integra Type R sounds interesting! I always wanted a Jap car..

Does anyone here own one or an Accord Type R? They they share the same engine?

No.

Integra has a 1.8 and Accord has a 2.2. Integra is faster, handles better and looks better.

Decent ATR's are starting to come down to that price range yes.

Integras, hmmm, I've always found decent stuff to be in the 5,6,7 even 8k range. So the chances of a nice one for 4-5k is rare/unlikely, but I have seen them.

What's the performance figures of each?

what's the Integra that has the round head-lights?

Dunno without looking, Integra quicker to 60 by a second maybe? Accord faster top end. Integra has the better chassis.

Round head lights = UKDM Integra DC2, or Celica's as JDM Integra owners call them:p

96 spec JDM Integra Type R :D

If you do this you may want to replace the 262mm front brake discs with 282mm discs from a UKDM or 98-spec JDM, and while you're at it, swap the manifold for the 98-spec one.

Awesome car though for ~4k.

Clio 172, for £4.5 youll struggle to find a car that will be more fun and not be 10+ years old.

Whoever said the 172 is the choice for a person with 0 no claims...theyre a group 16 car. insurance with 0 no claims will be very expensive.

I'd second that

Quotes for the 172 were far higher than for an MG ZR 1.8 when I was looking at one instead of the MG a few years ago
