What Would You Call MacBook Air then?

i dont see what makes it good?

Why would you want to do a full mac on a plane or bus?

Isnt this just supposed to be portable? it seems ridiculous for £100 more you can get the macbook pro....

I just think if you need an extra portable device then the asus eee seems ideal especially £1000 cheaper.

Why would you need an external drive for the mb air?

I dont know thats just my opinion... but i think its a pointless expensive device

Here's an idea situation;

person A owns an iMac or MacBook Pro (17" or even the 15")
It's big, it's a lug around but that's the main system. Person A needs a laptop just for word processing, presentation, business meetings, uni lectures, college work on the go. What the MacBook Air offers is OSX, on the go and not breaking your back when carried in your rugsack / briefcase.

That's how I'm viewing it.

What the EEE PC does it offer small, portability with Linux system that does all the web, mails and such. It's brilliant in its own rights but the MacBook Air is basically your Scooter when compared to your family car. It does the same thing, get you from A to B but with lesser capacity, lesser horsepower - but it's very versatile and nippy in specific situations. (A crap analogy but that's how I think)

I'm not sticking up for the MacBook Air, it is good but the price really made it crap for my pocket.

Me thinks leaving it till tomorrow noon or something before I ask a mod to turn it into a vote thread :)

As it stands, many of you like the name MacBook Mini over the original Air. I personally don't like it, it's not "mini" in terms of small, it's just OMG! thin when compared to a MacBook...
