One of my colleagues notified me that my tyre was a bit low on my car when he walked by earlier, so I went to go take a look. Sure enough it looks a tad low, so will go top it up, and see what happens. However... On my walk back to the office, I spotted this..

In spoiler tags, because of the large picture... I have left it large to show the

It's not someone who works here normally and no one at reception knows who the otner is. The car is a total heap of a 407, with large scrapes all down it. So, OcUK, what would you do?

I kind of want to inform the authorities. I would hate to do nothing only for it to blow when driving, and cause a serious accident. The counter argument is that I should leave it well alone, it's none of my business.

Currently I am leaning more towards reporting it, and hoping the driver gets a VRN and the world keeps on spinning with his/her car a lot safer than before..

If this is anything like the last thread we had about this you'll get a 50/50 split of report it and stop being a nosy bugger it's none of your business.

I'd probably report it personally, there's letting it go a bit past the wear markers and then that. I'd see it as a safety issue for anyone that person is driving near so i'd feel guilty if i didn't report it, as slim as the chances are and they ended up hurting someone else due to their negligence.

I'd leave a note if the owner is unknown.
Many people are clueless with car care, maintenance and routine (in this case, any!) checking.

I left a note telling them the tyres were illegal and very dangerous.
The other front is illegal too.
I also said I would notify the police on Wednesday and send the pictures of the car to them.

100% agree. Report it OP. You could leave a note but someone who has a car in the state you describe probably won't give two hoots.

I simply cannot for the life of me understand why people allow a tyre to get to that stage without replacing it. There's absolutely no excuse for it. Even idiocy doesn't cut it.

That's beyond being ignorant and not noticing, that's got to that level over a period of time and cannot be ignored. I'm one for keeping myself to myself, but that tyre offers no grip whatsoever and could be very dangerous to someone else. I'd be inclined to suggest reporting them.

Front near side battered like that means the Driver likes to hurl himself into roundabouts. If it's only that side he has a bearing gone or tracking out as well. Idiot probably carrys his kids in it as well.

That car looks like a piece of ****. And those tyres are as smooth as a babys bottom, my uncle let his get like that and I had to notify him, he did know he was just waiting for the best deal (£120 a corner)
