Hi all,

Just quite interested to know what you would do with £6,000 if you didn't particularly need anything...

Buy shares? Put into a high interest savings account? If so who, and which account etc.?

That entirely depends on what you currently have and what you deem as "not needing anything".

But if it isn't needed for either an immediate purchase, a deposit toward a larger (car/house/boat) purchase, or needed for anything like contingency/running costs/maintenance costs of anything, then I'd probably go on holiday with it.

If I really didnt need it for something more important in the future, and I didnt have work commitments, I'd go travelling with it.

Ok basically save, buy shares, multiply the money, invest, accrue interest, things like that - not worldly material objects.

Self employed so in that respect I have work commitments and not the time to go travelling, should have done that when I was younger :(

Go travelling.

I'm currently looking at this as an option but don't have the money so would jump at the chance if I had it.

+1 this. I'd do a nice long stint in Japan. Take my time from tip to tip.

Didn't know you could see into the future.

If I didn't need to spend it on something necessary right now, I'd probably open a high interest savings account and put it towards my future children(s) education.

If it were me, and had no stock market experience, I would probably split it 3K/3K between cash ISA and a tracker ISA. Perhaps 1K Japan, 1K UK All Share, 1K Emerging Markets or something. But that's not advice, just what I would do :)
