What would you do with...

havent you just bought hosting? which is cheap as chips.

im confused as to why you are paying that much per month. My business hosting doesnt cost that much and its 2gb space and a lot of bandwidth thats guarenteed to work properly

ok, so here are the options:

Folding
OcUK Game Sever
OcUK member upload service (?)
File Server
Mail Server

i would love a Don to make a Poll if possible :)

thanks for all your advice guys
YOu can certainly run FAH on it while doing those other tasks. The beauty of it is that it runs in the background. If it were a game server I'd set FAH to use get small WUs though.

but i can do that with hosting, apart from the remote control bit. which i dont see any need for.

i dont need to control my dedicated hosting lol. thats what i pay them to do.

It's a dedicated server, not shared hosting. That means he can do whatever he wants with it — he can max out the processor usage, leech all the RAM and use up all the hard drive space — without being contended for hardware. With remote access via SSH he can install any software he likes (such as game servers, folding applications, jabber servers, web control panels) and do whatever he wants with it... within the law, of course.

37.84EUR/month is ludicrously cheap for the dedicated server he is getting (As I stated in another thread, the bandwidth alone on this should cost upwards of £75 at todays prices, let alone the hardware, power and support costs), and I highly doubt you have "dedicated hosting" for less than that cost. Well, unless it's a Pentium II with 20KB of data transfer each month, that is!

P.S. Why oh why did you (the OP) purchase a dedicated server then pay extra to install Windows Server on it? There's a reason Windows Server only holds a small portion of the international server OS market.
