English lessons might be a good start.
Buy a property and rent it out, no point it sitting in the bank earning minimal money when you can be earning more on it.
Don't buy to let mortgages demand a massive deposit though?
I'm kind of in this quandry of what to do with my savings so that they appreciate as much as possible. Too nervous to play with shares however and dont really want to tie it into anything for years. I've maxed an ISA and that's all. The rest is just say in a side account with my bank
It is tricky to decide whether to continue saving hard or go have fun. Guess I'm at the age where I seem to be getting a little more sensible than I used to be and think about the future a bit more.
Basically bit of a question here. Probz going to get slated here. But im 25 ive got 35k in the bank. I live with parents but not going to move out as i get along really well with them. I have a car that gets from a to b. it is nothing great. The question is what would you do with the money if in my situation. Save up more? But save up for what. Already spoke to gf. We are goin to have a smal wedding so that wont be an expense either.
35k in the bank, 25 and still living with your parents?
Get your own place. You're a grown adult now.
I do not wish to move out mate.
Yeah glad i am not the only one. What you plan on doing?
It sounds like you are about to get married. Are you both going to be staying with your parents?
That's just wrong.
Get your own place. Get future wife to move in. Test the waters before you get married. You might find after living with her she does your nut in.
I've had a fair amount of fun and at 34 I really should be thinking about getting on the property ladder as it seems house prices are pretty low at the moment. Trouble is I have just under half of what you have saved up, I live in the South and only have a basic of £27k a yearMy g/f is a student doing a PHD so we really only have one wage coming in to base a mortgage on so I'm unsure how it will all work out. We'd love a house but with me only being able to get about £108k mortgage if the house was £160k I need to find myself a £42k deposit!
Fun!!!
