What would you get for £20k?

Can one get a Cayman now for 20k?

If so easily one of the best drivers cars for 20k that won't cost you a small fortune to run and the handling/steering feedback in the Cayman is on another level compared to most cars. :)

HI there

So many cars for that kind of money.

BMW Z4M as already mentioned
E46 M3 a very nice one for 20k

EVO X FQ xxx can be had for 20k, incredibly capable and somewhat practical

Megane R26.R

There are so many cars, all depends what you want, as maybe something more like a 535D would suit your needs.

I find myself leaning heavily towards an E46 M3 Convertible at the moment, although last week it was all about the DeLorean DMC-12, so it'll probably be something else next week

20 Mondeos innit.

I would try and get a 911 personally or an Evo. I know they arn't similar but they have the "wow" factor. For such money I would want something special.

M3 is nice obviously but for me at least 20k is a lot of money and as special as an M3 is it doesn't look different enough or is that much better than a normal 3 series to justify the cost. Especially now with the 335s.

Or an Exige. But it's a similar thing to the M3 in that it doesn't look much different to an Elise.

Don't get me wrong both are awesome but I am in no doubt you pay a massive premium for having the top end model. I know car purchases aren't purely logical but everyone has a point where money is an issue.

Or some American Muscle for something different.

I couldn't get the 996 that I wanted for this cash, but similarly would be unwilling to get a boxster s as it's not a 911 (wouldn't spend £20k on one at any rate). Regardless of this dilemma it'd be something with 2 seats and no roof.

I think you can get one for £20k (probably not the S, mind), but £25k gets you a properly nice one. Hopefully my next car within 18 months

Keep the S and chuck some money at it.

Handling, braking and Forced Induction. Would not need anywhere near half that to achieve it though.

Really have no idea what I would get for £20k if I had to buy something though. Probably some kind of a classic.

I would look at an R129 Mercedes SL60 AMG.

I have been more than impressed with mine. Fantastic car for the money now most of the depreciation has been lost. I don't think it will ever be worth less than I paid for it now and may even go up in value over time.
