What Would you Want From the Otherside

I don't see this thread turning into the usual arguments tbh guys, we all have different opinions on AMD and nvidia, and I think we could all agree that neither company does everything right or offers a perfect product.

I think as pc gamers we have a lot to look forward to, from both companies.

It's exciting times and I for one can't wait to see what happens.

I tend to hop between the two:

From nv to amd I'd like to see the better 3d support, I've never really been bothered by physx regardless of card. 3d may be all locked to nv hardware but its very well supported and problem free.

From amd to nv I'd like to see out of the box volts, maybe price but certain things reflect on how amd manage to throw out cards cheaper (PCB and cooler re-use from previous gens for example). Mantle, maybe, I feel gsync/freesync has more to offer gamers though.

As a nvidia user: Cheaper prices for certain cards, not locking software like Gameworks and PhysX to the brand as this restricts the amount of devs who'll use it.

As an AMD user: Better reference coolers, opening Mantle up so all can use it as this was originally said to be possible if I recall correctly, vendors like EVGA or KFA2 would be nice but very unlikely to ever happen.

I'm currently an AMD user, and what appeals to me is ShadowPlay. Although I find AMD's performance perfectly good a great deal of the time, I find Nvidia even smoother, so that would be another request of mine.

I was always under the impression that AMD reference boards are built like tanks (and having been burned by the Nvidia solder defects on their 8800GT and similar, I would never buy Nvidia again). AMD's reference cooler is not as good (quiet) as Nvidia's though.

I agree on Physx in that if it worked on all three vendors (inc. Intel), developers might actually use it for gameplay features not just eye-candy.

AMD cards have much tougher VRMS, it's their software that needs improving. UPLS etc

NV need to work on the former

i think a 25% of the reason Nvidia prices are steeper is because they waste so much money on marketing. It works i get it. we know why they do it.

but i think it effect the price for all.
AMD do less marketing, but have lower prices

As an Nvidia user i would like:
- AMD prices
- equivalent amounts of VRAM, and equivalent memory bus widths
- freesync support (I don't want to be tied to one or the other)
- mantle
