What You All Have Been Waiting For

It's not all about how fast a car is you know.

im sure there is a good fast and furious quote i could follow that up with, something like

Brian: Hey, wait, hold up! I don't have any cash, but I do have the pink slip to my car
Jesse: Wait, you just can't climb in the ring with Ali 'cause you think you box!
Brian: [points to Vince] He *knows* I can box! So check it out, it's like this: If I lose, winner takes my car clean and clear. But if I win, I take the cash, *and* I take the respect!
Dom: [laughing] Respect?
Brian: To some people, that's more important

I doubt you could simply slap on a turbo / ecu / injectors / intercooler / manifold / catback and get it to run double the power without melting a hole in one of the pistons / one of the conrods going / the bottom end giving out.

Even if you fit it yourself you're looking at 2k for the turbo setup minus the exhaust / intercooler and remap.

Otherwise £600 for some pistons and rods + £400 exhaust / £400 intercooler £500 map.

This is almost besides the point, adding more BHP through the standard gearbox / diff doesn't mean its going to drop the 0-60 by a huge amount, mid range power yes, vastly different 0-60 times no.

and tbh, a 1.0 yaris isnt the best starting point. something with a much bigger engine, so i agree with keep the yaris simple, dont put silly money into it and save for something thats actually quick to start with

i know people with highly strung, high complicated creations that are practically never on the road because theyre such a pain.

200bhp sounds a lot for such a chassis like that - surely it'll be more drivable with 140-150 anyway?

Could be talking out of my arse mind. Saying that, Toyota felt the need to dump a 215bhp supercharged lump in the Corolla (yet not the Celica...?) so I suppose anything's possible!

EDIT: And it's a 1.5 Matt :p

(Sneaky edit, after the actual power of the Corolla was found out! Assumed it was the same as the Exige...)

Why are we all getting carried away with him modifying his car's performance? All I read is suggestions not actual fact... let's reel it back into reality please chaps.

I replaced my V6 Alfa Romeo with it so I could afford to buy my own pad - have fun with hot hatches and a bedroom in your parents house

I have a 4 bed house with a 1.5 garage, a Westfield, a Cosworth, 2 kids and a lovely wife.

What was your point again?

Im glad he is spending his money and time on his car and not out there spending his money on crap and breaking into or stealing other peoples pride and joy!

I wish more young lads were doing the same tbh

It isn't a 1.0!

TBH its my money and my car whats it to do with you whether i supercharge it or turbo it. At the end of the day i like the car and think that there potential just like the starlets out there. Just cause you dont think its worth it doesnt mean i have to think the same thing.

I could just do the easy option and buy a faster car but wheres the fun of catching people off gaurd and just thinking hahaha look at that stupid Yaris, then think OMG thats quick i wonder what hes done.

I could buy a BMW or Mondeo or something along those lines and be like every other sheep but id rather not and so i will continue modding my little Yaris until it dies.

Also it can handle up to 160hp on standard internals and a turbo kit costs £2K at the moment and a charger kit costs £2.5K but thats only cause of what situation the worlds in. So once it sorts itself out im gonna be looking.

One more thing. All my mods are declared as i get any cosmetic mod free only mods that i get charged for are increase in bhp so i can pretty much do what i want looks wise.

Umm, so you are unique in your modding of a yaris? nope
so you are doing things that others have done before you? yep
lots of people? yep
are you a sheep? yep!

don't fool yourself by thinking that you are not a sheep, you are, you are just have different colour wool :p

Nice looking motors bud. In a few years you will move on to better things but untill then its good to see your keeping it low key and respectfully modded. :)

At 22 I had a E39 and 23 a Cadillac but I dont love in a warzone so I can see you have got something nippy yet not extreme on insurance.

BTW you will always want to go faster. 6 months after every car I get thats a little faster I want to get something faster again. Next for me is 4WD either an evo or a imprezza but thats got to wait till im 25. ;)
