What your sound system setup?

Heard the Focals today that I've been jonesing after at West End Production just off Oxford street, very lovely girl called Shona got them set up for me in the basement 'studio'. Wow! Drooling at the thought of owning these. I got to compare the CMS 40's, CMS 50's and also the Twins just to see the improvement (completely out of my budget). The 40's were beautiful, but once you've heard the 50's, you don't want to go back, they fill out a lot more down the bottom which is essential for me as I can't use a sub. The Twins were another step up, but they're both far too huge and far too expensive for me.

A Cambridge Soundworks Digital 2.1 set up that's close to ten years old. They're like family to me. :D

I tend to swing violently between the merits of onboard audio and sound cards. Currently I'd like a card, but don't have any spare slots in my mobo, so onboard Realtek HD it is. I suppose we always want things we can't have...

As i use my PC at home for music production, i'm using a Steinberg/Yamaha MR816X feeding a pair of ADAM A7X.

Main stereo system (excluding AV stuff):
Squeezebox 3 -> DacMagic -> homebuilt buffered preamp -> Rotel RB991 -> B&W 603s2 & REL Storm 3

Desk setup:
Xonar D2X -> Z5500 or HD595

I seem to have managed to avoid serious upgraditis for a while now. I wouldn't mind a better amp/speakers for the desk though - the Z5500s are fun but not the most musical.

ALAC files on NAS* > Mac Mini w/iTunes front end > Fisual Pearl mini jack to optical toslink (via the MM's digital out) > Yulong D100 DAC > balanced XLR output > Focal CMS 50 speakers*

*Don't own just yet, but soon! Also thinking of adding a Purity Audio KICAS Caliente headphone amp connected via the balanced RCA outputs of the Yulong to use w/my IEMs, which I'm also looking to upgrade, probably to customs (probably UM Merlin or Miracle) for night time listening e.t.c. The Yulong has a decent built in headphone amp but it's on the bright side of neutral and I'm more a 'warm' guy.

Going to add a TC Electronics Level Pilot in between the D100 and Focals as to make volume control easier. It'll look purdy with all the anodised and brushed aluminium of the rest of the set up too.

Got to stress again, if you're around London, check out West End Productions in Great Russell St. they have an awesome basement set up where you can demo a load of good quality monitors and the staff are super super helpful.
